This amazing creation and vanish of a large hole in a playing card is one of Peter's most popular effects and has caused quite a stir on the internet. Most assumed he uses a camera trick. Not so. You can now learn how.
Important: Peter Pelikaan's face never appears in his videos, they look homemade, his voice is rough, and his background is a mystery. Peter teaches fast, and doesn't speak much during the tutorials, but they are clear enough assuming that you already know standard moves such as false counts, displays and, on the very odd occasion, lapping. The camerawork isn't fancy by any means, but his astounding magic speaks for itself.

The tutorial is exactly as described in the ad copy. The method is simpler than I expected, too. There are no gimmicks involved. You just need to cut some holes in some cards. I was a little concerned that I would need the cards with the big circle on the back, but it could be done with any back. The circles do look nice, but have no bearing on the method. Since I was forewarned about the nature of the video, essentially a single shot with a home camera, my rating is based on whether I COULD do it and whether I’d WANT to do it once I knew the limitations. Both are yes. I deducted one star because there’s some cleanup afterwards that will require some thought and planning. I do plan to put in the time on this because it is beautiful.
