This is an excellent book. The production values are great. The explanations and drawings are clear. This 182 pages of sheer brilliance. Be warned some of the effects require quite a bit of skill but there are a few that are quite accessible. My favourite trick is You can count on Dr Daley. Its really good. I have been on the fence buying this book but I really do not regret it. Its a great book and I can really recommend this. Its mostly cards but there are some really creative magic in here. Get this!
Wow, there are so many great routines/ideas in this book. This is one of the people I would love to see live at a convention. If that's not possible, there still is the book. I don't like to give away to much in a review, but there's a few things that make you look like an expert Lennart Green: Shuffling cards in an apparent chaotic way but always under your control. Give in just a little to 'chaos' and nobody in your audience will understand how it's possible what your doing. Waiting for a volume 2!
I’ve heard the name of So Sato many times when I was in Japan a few years ago, but never had the chance to read anything from him as all of it was written in Japanese. After reading his book translated to English now I understand why in Japan he is a legend. The quality of the book is great. The content is even better. But not for everyone, as many effects have a “difficult” skill (this is very subjective though). If you want to approach card magic in a different way this book is definitely for you.
So Sato is my most recent card inspiration. The way he presents and his moves are so natural. A modern day genius!
This book is really good! There are some ideas that worth the price of the book, personally I loved the Mass Destruction Stacking (a way to retain part of your stack while four or more spectators shuffle the deck. No, you don't have to palm, steal or add anything). Also, the Mimic Show is something to consider, is a pretty nice false display. If you like the chaotic style, the Bushfire Triumph is for you, this doesn't fit my performance style, but I have to admit that looks great! In conclusion, this is a good book, there are some ideas worth reading, practicing and performing.
