When you get tired of slicing through your own finger, have a go on someone else's. The frame is clear and the blade paper-thin. It's uncanny--the absolute minimum in a guillotine. It doesn't look like it could work--especially when your finger's through it. It is a bit "angly," in that you shouldn't just leave it out in the open, or let people see the back panel before or after your performance. You should be careful of how light reflects off the front panel, too. But once your...item is in the hole, and you have a firm grip on the blade, you can let people see both sides.I'm having fun with this.And if you need some chitchat to help pass the time while you prepare for your performance: machines like the guillotine were in use in Europe and England for hundreds of years before Dr. Guillotine came along. He did recommend the use of the machine invented by a German engineer and a French doctor, on the grounds that it allowed everyone to be turned off like the nobility was (hanging being so lower-class). That's how it got his name; first it was called the louisette or louison. There were gold guillotine earrings, and toy guillotines for the kiddies--really. Toy guillotines. You can look it up.
I'm not a professional magician just a long-time fan of magic and especially of Tenyo's magic. A clever illusion but sometimes has a small mechanical issue but not a problem. Can be done surrounded and one of Tenyo's best.
