Stuart asks: I'm working on John Carney's Rising Cards "Ascention" from his "Book of Secrets" book. John recommends John Kennedy's "Power Reel". From the video, it seems as if the Perfect Power Reel could be quite similar. The Kennedy Reel is about twice the length of a 9v battery (which is what it runs on) and a momentary switch plus the bobbin of course. If this is similar, I'll probably go ahead & place an order. Any insight you could provide if this Reel would work would be great... Also, is it a remote or does the performer have to directly activate the reel? Thank you! David asks: Some questions about this device: 1.) What is the size of the device -Â Length x width? 2.) Can this device use a regular square cut 45cm x 45 cm (18" inch x 18" inch) silk ? (I do not want to use diamond cut or diagonal cut silk) 3.) I don't need to animate the silk (pulling it across the stage or around my body) , but want to use it for the visible transformation of silk to a candle as shown in the video. Is it possible to attach the silk directly to the device with a magnet or tape ?
David asks: One more question about this device - Is the operation of the device silent or is there a noticeable sound when the device is activated ? May the device be used close to an audience , only a few feet away , or must the device be used on stage with distance from the audience to avoid detection of the sound ?
