The Vernet Playing Card Guard is described as the the ultimate bodyguard for your deck, keeping it safe and sound in style. It's made from a thick plastic, it's lightweight and won't weigh down your pockets like those bulky card clips. I purchased mine in 2018. But, fair warning, this thing is strong! I did have to squeeze my cards into it. I accidentally poked a hole in my back pocket with it once – oops! So, if you've got decks you really care about, it's a no-brainer. But if cards are just cards to you, it might not be essential. As a female magician with smaller pockets, it fits snug. Personally, I haven't had a need to keep utilizing it but that doesn't mean another person wouldn't. I also like that it comes in different colors. I would utilize the different colors for organizing (for example: red goes with the invisible deck, blue goes to Brent Braun’s Position Impossible Deck, black goes with regular cards). This is a great card clip and it looks professional especially the black one. It has the right pressure for card protection. I would recommend it.
I’ve used several of the metal clips In the past and was pretty skeptical that these could flatten out my warped decks but they actually work great! Not only do they protect your cards and reduce the weight in your pocket but they will take that annoying click out of your deck if you leave it in for a while. Love everything about them but not sure about long term durability only time will tell but for now I’m only carrying these clips in my pocket.
It does what it is supposed to do. I was looking for something to keep my cards in good condition even when I put it in my pocket. And that is what it does. The pressure is great, because it really pushes on all parts of the cards evenly, so you don't get strange dents in your cards. Because it is strong plastic it is light, so good if you have it in your pant pocket.
