An unusual piece of mental magic from Martin Schwartz.
A card is selected. 11 cards are removed from the deck and the selection shuffled in. The 12 cards are then laid out like a clock dial. A pencil is placed on the card case, and the card case placed in the center of the "clock face".
Using whatever powers you wish to claim, the pencil eerily rotates until it is pointing to one card. Which is, of course, the selected card.
This is a clever, mechanical solution. It's visual, incredibly easy to do, unusual, and memorable.
