Very well explained, he starts with an introduction, followed by demos, and how to do variouse, and very enjoyable easy card tricks.
he also explains different deck handaling methods too.
This is definatley worth getting.

Even though I was familiar with all the techniques covered I learned some great tips about presentation and I added a few subtilities here and there in my repertoire. He touches you a method and then demonstartes how you can use the method and present it professionally when doing a trick. One of his tricks I have done in front of colleagues as well. Excellent selection of beginner, but very impactful card tricks. Difficulty increases gradually; from self-working tricks requiring a bit of math, to ones needing double lift, palming and the pass. Naturally, these techniques are explained and taught at a somewhat high level - due to time/scope, but still adequetly for the purpose of this collection.

Excellent! This course is great for both beginning level card magicians and expert level magicians, Paul Wilson goes over many tricks from self working card tricks to advanced card tricks that require a good amount of practice, some of the tricks here are really good, I really really recommend it.

I've been an observer of magic for many years, and now I'm diving in to learn how to do magic so I can entertain others. This was an awesome video that covers some great sleights and tricks without being overwhelming. Brand new to card magic. This introductory video was very helpful on some basic card handling and some tricks that are probably easy once I've practiced more. I appreciate the simple material because I'm finding even this a bit challenging being brand new. The discussion about how to make the tricks more interesting and successful and the discussion about the "why's" of the different card handling techniques were also very good. It was very good! I learned many things that I had never seen before. I am very new to magic and have only been doing it for about 3 months. It was very well done and the content was wonderful. The instructor was very good at explaining and I understood everything very well. I have had a very good time watching this course. I have hands that are very small and I was wondering what other palms there are that can be used with any size hands. also I was wondering if there are any different passes that can be used with small hands. In the future will you be making any more courses that are free? I just joined SYM and I was unable to obtain the free e-books. I still am unable to obtain them do you know why. Also you should do a course on storytelling in magic and how to create your own stories.

This is a brilliant set of ten short lessons. Each one contains teaching of an important basic skill and a trick that illustrates one way in which it can be used. Everything is explained very clearly, simply and expertly - and I know I will definitely return to this video a lot. It would help if the video was divided into chapters - but that's only minor thing - overall the quality of teaching and value of this video to a beginner in card magic is fantastic!

If you are new to the art of card magic, this is a great place to start. R. Paul Wilson is an amazing card magician, and an awesome teacher. He has a nice, calm, laid back style and a soothing voice that would entrance the listener even if he was reading a clothes dryer repair manual! The magic is first rate as well. He teaches several classic card magic effects that are Killers (see what I did there?)! Learn these effects from a master, and you have a mini-show in your pocket at all times!

I'll give a quick review of Paul Wilson's 10x10 card magic lessons. I am not a magician or card master by any stretch of the imagination. But, Paul's clear and concise explanation of card effects has created the illusion of mastery on several occasions. The simple steps he presents and the progressive nature of the lessons helped me learn quickly that I CAN do magic. It has even inspired me to explore magic in greater depth.

I wish I have had this course when I began. You can learn simple and effective tricks in an ascendent course that show how the magic work, not only with cards but all the whole philosophy behind. Paul is serious and barely jokes, but it is in the character of each one to add yout own personality. I have already added two easy automatic tricks from this course to my repertory, still studying some more.

Awesome tips and information, but also very complicated. It's obvious it will take a lot more dedicated time practicing. More than some of the other card tricks I've seen. However, these are tricks that will WOW an audience.

This is very good. Lots of basic tricks and sleights are taught here such as the double lift, pass, palm, glide, etc. I highly recommend all beginners to buy this. You can get it for free and it's worth your time

I wish this had been the very first magic video I downloaded. Ten amazing tricks for a beginner like me, slowly and carefully taught by an excellent teacher, with great presentation ideas as well. I've paid for a number of downloads (often of similar tricks) that weren't half as good as what's taught here--and it was free, thanks to VI's promo. I'll be watching this one again and again.

The moves start out simple, though as Paul points out, these are the techniques you’ll need to know “if you want to go deeper into the rabbit hole.” Practice will be key here; even some of the simpler-looking maneuvers, like a riffle shuffle, take some work to look as smooth as Paul makes them look. Just as important, he focuses on the presentation of the tricks, to help budding magicians go beyond the actions taken for a trick to presenting something that really has a strong impact on spectators.

If you're just getting started and want some great tricks you can start using immediately, and want to learn some basic card moves, don't hesitate. This is the video you're looking for. This is the best, most poetic intro course to handling cards I’ve ever seen. Scholarly and a pleasure to follow.

Paul Wilson's 10x10 magic course is fantastic and I'd highly recommend it.

It consists of 10 lessons - each one contains a skill (such as a shuffle, the double lift, the pass etc) and a trick that uses the skill. It starts off really simple and gets slightly more difficult each time.

The teaching is outstanding - slow, clear and patient. I particularly like the camera angle - so you see what you will see when you are doing it yourself.

If you are a beginner, you will probably need to go back and watch each lesson several times and spend a lot of time practicing each one before you are ready to present it, but the structure of the video in lessons means you can easily go back and do a bit at a time and have a new trick to use afterwards.

I've watched it all the way through and already knew many of the skills - but want to practice and improve them, so think rewatching and practicing is going to keep me busy for weeks, if not months!

You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. That was *far* too good to be given away free. It's also somewhat misleading to bill it as for complete beginners. There are effects in it that any magician at any level would be happy to know and perform - Walton's 'Pass at Red' alone could be a paid download and no one would grumble,

Wow, lots to practice but great card tricks. My education started when I was very young and my Dad showed me two card moves and the French Drop for my first coin move. I have used these three moves for decades and now that I'm retired it's time. to learn more. Thanks for this instruction I can start to create moe magic.

This video really is great, and it teaches globally all the fundamentals of card magic. I knew all these techniques beforehand, however the zoom in from a different angle really helped. Paul Wilson really is academic and I highly recommend this video. IT is worth it if you're starting or still a beginner in card magic. It teaches techniques going from breaks, paming, or even the pass, and some tricks are so easy but have such an amazing effect that you will be mindblown. Thank you!!

I’ve always, as any magician, done cards.
But I considered myself a coin and paddle man.
This tutorial is very easy to follow and shows me variations of moves I had almost forgotten (was away from the art for too many years. Doesn’t matter why)
This is a series of effects well worth your time and investment.

Can teach an old trick to be a new dog!

I have been a student of The Royal Road to Card Magic for many years. Paul Wilson took many of those concepts and explained them differently or executed them differently to make some classic tricks feel fresh and new.

I have done a handful of these tricks for years. The second I started performing then with Paul Wilson’s ideas….minds started melting.

The video can be a little difficult for beginners who have not done their card mechanic practice but it’s not impossible. Most of it is doable for a newbie.

Good angles, good explanation, but some moves are done a little fast that a rewind or two happened for me a few more times than usual.

Paul Wilson is great and I will buy more of his products.

Paul is amazing with the cards. He does the moves so elegantly and seemingly effortlessly that even when you're watching for it, because you know he is using sleight of hand tricks, you don't even see it. They say in plain sight is the best hiding place.

10X10 is a must have for anyone who is a beginner as well as an experienced magician to brush up on principles of close up magic. His demonstrations and teachings are clear and he goes by teaching the rudimentary sleights followed by an explanation of how to use those. It is composed of 10 lessons and I was able to learn ten of the basic moves.

This is a great introduction video for card magic to see if you like it and want to focus on it since I completed it I feel my card magic has got 10 times better some tricks could be explained in more detail but it good enough if you rewatch the video

Basics are taught clearly. You will find most of this on YouTube. But this is much more organic & interesting

I really enjoyed this video. I don't have the patience to watch videos that are hours long. This is pure "meat and potatoes", from a couple great self workers to very practical explanations and demo's of very usable core sleights. I have a DVD in my collection that is supposed to teach a DL, (I mean that's the literally point of the entire DVD) and this 10x10 gave me better tips for learning a DL, which has escaped me so far.

I´ve seen such a lot of tutorials up to now... some of them were O.K., some of them were unbeliveable useless. Sometimes tutorials from really really good magicians, but they seem to have neither praxis to speak in front of a camera nor to explain what they are doing. And I really hate it if somebody is stumbling and is searching for really common words and start to talk about something that´s devinitly in no ones interest.
But this tutorial is rally great!!! A perfect camera view, no stumbling around, no uninteresting storys of nothing, a really clear and absolutely understandable voice and an unbeliveable way to speak and to explain!!! My biggest respect and compliment!!! Also the selction of the mindblowing (most of them) tricks is perfect - this tutorial I can (and I really have to... :O)) watch for many times without getting bored or what ever!!! Absolutely recommendable!!!

Very nice intro! the tricks selection is very good even if you have been doing some magic for a while.. the effects don't have to be extremely complicated technically if that's not going to seem "more magical" for the audience. Super good tips on presentations and handling too.
