Constructed from years of trial and error, Asi’s Any Card at Any Number is a masterpiece of modern-day magic.
The effect is suitable for both close-up and stage with a method that is nearly impossible to reconstruct. It can be performed surrounded and may be repeated with no additional setup required. Only an ordinary deck of cards is used. Nothing else.
What we love most about this effect is that Asi has taken a classic plot in card magic (Any Card at Any Number) and combined it with his background in mentalism to construct a routine that when viewed in performance seems like so much more than “just” a card trick.
"AACAAN" is an interactive performance piece that will make your reputation!
Asi has honed his handling of the ACAAN plot over many years and many methods. Like most incredible ACAAN methods, this does require some memorization - what you’ll need to memorize is listed at the end of the explanation.
Customer reviews for A.A.C.A.A.N.
The effect is not easy and you will need to dedicate some time to practice but in the end, you will have a miracle to show. Bravo Asi Wind! And thanks Dan and Dave for releasing this effect on your site!
Asi explains everything very thorough. He really does his best at explaining the difficult parts of the trick.
It's a must have for Stage and Close-Up magicians.
To perform this effect, one either needs to have previous knowledge of a certain magical technique, or spend over another $50 dollars to learn about it (depending on the source). For a $20 downloadable tutorial for a card trick, I was seriously expecting a full explanation of everything required for the trick. Instead, I received the main sleight involved (which is good, no denying that), and then a major glossing over of what makes the trick work in addition to that slight, as that information is someone else's.
This trick is an application of another technique at it best. That doesn't change how amazing the effect is, but buyers be warned that you may not know what you need to know to perform this effect, and learning the other parts of the trick may be very expensive and time-consuming.
I've performed it a number of times now, and it just kills. So clean, so fair. Looks like you do nothing at all, which is what makes this so strong. So glad Asi finally released his work on ACAAN. Everything is taught in-depth and nothing is glossed over. Multiple times Asi goes over each section of what you need to do to accomplish the effect, so by the end you have a full understanding of the effect, how it works, and all that is left for you to do is practice.
I've looked at just about every ACAAN method ever released, and this is definitely the best one I've ever come across. This is something I don't see myself ever putting down. If you want to perform ACAAN, this is the one. Thank you, Asi.
Sounds impossible, right? It's not. And every single condition I've listed above is 100% fact.
I learned this method originally in Asi's booklet 'Chapter One'. I'm not sure if it's still in print, but if it is, jump on it and get 4 other effects that are just as powerful, direct, well-structured, and strong in effect AND method. However, this ACAAN is worthy of this standalone release and is worth the $20 if you don' t want the booklet or can't find it.
One caveat: The method requires knowledge of a magic principle that many magicians may not have readily as their disposal. It's not something you'll have to search far and wide to find, but it IS something that will require a lot (and I mean a lot) of additional work to get ready if it's not something you already have worked in and ready to go. I can't say more than that, but it's worth warning you of this. However, you may be so freaking excited by this method that you'll be dying to learn this additional principle that, sadly, the video itself doesn't cover (as the principle belongs to someone else and it is not in Asi's right to teach it here).
All of this said: This is the best, cleanest, and most direct method out there. Get it. Now.
That being said, as mentioned above, you need something else to make this trick work. But, you should put in the time to develop that ability anyway.
For those interested in the plot, I would also check out John Born's Meant To Be, which uses a similar technique. I think Asi's version is a major step forward, but the Born book is a great discussion of ACAAN plots in general.
This is stupidly ridiculous (that means extremely wicked) and brilliantly thought out. It's definitely worth the money, in my opinion, and it's clearly explained, detailed, and concise. There are two things you have to learn, but once you do, you'll be glad. However, that being said, I recommend Double Exposure by Asi Wind as well (I purchased these two together) and was the best 20 I've spent on magic indefinitely.
4 out of 5, lost one point for the fact that you aren't informed before hand of what you need to know to perform this.
This effect does take time and effort on your part to make it possible. But that's the fun of magic! I will definitely be working through this one on the daily to perfect the rhythm and natural flow that it needs.
Asi's ACAAN is not only par for Asi, but it's better. I might even end this review with the cliche, "Do yourself a favor and get this right now" line because this time, I really mean it. Actually, don't get it. I want as few people performing is as possible. If you put in the work, I promise you will not be disappointed.
His teaching is second to none, all the tiny details you need to make this wonderful effect work for you is all there.
one of the best!
I see comments here asking about how to get around the memorized deck requirement for this like with cribs, etc. Why get around it? Just memorize a stack. I'm 68 and just memorized the Joyal stack ("The Six Hour Memorized Deck") without any difficulty whatsoever and I'm giving my highest recommendation to that stack. Here's why I like it better than others even though there are no built-in tricks (which I don't care about). The Joyal stack is rule based with only 14 rules to memorize. I don't need to picture Martha Stewart fixing an old Buick which connects to a picture of George Washington in a clown suit riding a roller coaster which connects to a picture of Darth Vader whipping a kitten to know that the Jack of spades is 17th. The best thing is that if you happen to forget a card, you can easily and quickly reconstruct what the number must be by recalling the rule (which are just cards and numbers, but easy and logical).
The Joyal stack is so firmly fixed in my brain, that when I go, I'm sure I'll be able to write it down on the inside of my coffin lid. So get AACAAN and don't be afraid.
It is absolutely amazing and is worth every cent. It really is the best ACAAN effect out there and so adding this to your repertoire will be worth all of the effort and time.
Only thing I would add is that you should not add this if you are new to magic and ideally buy thus trick once you have memorised a stack, but otherwise, a brilliant trick.

Any great effect requires investment of time and practice. For me, this effect prompted me to delve further into memorized decks and master false cuts and false shuffles.
I can't recommend this effect more highly. Asi Wind's instructions are so clear - he's a great educator. I also appreciated the live performances, both close-up and stage, so we can see how this works in real life.
Cannot recommend this effect more highly.
I love the Asi Wind's rendition - it's elegant just like anything else he does.
I love the fact that you can do this trick over and over to the same person, and still get amazing reactions. That made practicing this routine in front of my wife way more fun, every single time.
It is a bit complicated for me when I need to do quick simple math in my head. I need to warm up good before I can preform this one to an unfamiliar audience. Luckily for me - Asi's routine allow me to take the time, making sure I'm not rushing when I don't need to. After all this effect is almost entirely done in the magician's head - so taking the time is fine, because you don't look like you do any fancy sleight of hand.
The truth is, even when I know how it works - I'm still amazed when I do that one.
Thank you Asi, and thank you Juan :)

but, I never watch like this ACAAN before I know A.A.C.A.A.N
from now on, It became my favorite ACAAN of which I know one
And I think this method use another one not only ACAAN
but, I can't tell all of my idea because its about trick LOL
Wow, what trick. It is the perfect A.C.A.A.N trick and you can build a wonderfull story around it.
Asi Wind does teach you everything you need to know but you have to really put in the work. You have to learn and memorise the technique and you have to keep working with it. But it is worth every minute or hour you put in.
It is the perfect trick and it will amaze everyone.
His instruction is clear and broken out into different segments covering the various skills you need to acquire.
The construction of the method allows one to present this in such a way that the number and card are named when the deck is in its box and apparently you never touch the cards up to the final reveal.
(I'd recommend reading John Born's "Meant to Be" to see other approaches on this line of thought. As well as Kaufman's amazing book "The Berglas Effects." )
"ASI Winds' 'Any Card at Any Number' download is a mind-blowing masterpiece! The seamless execution and ingenious methods make it a must-have for any card magician. Weirdly enough, this purchase made me start learning the MNEMONICA stack and whilst it can take a while, I'm fortunate (and always have been) to be somewhat of a quick learner when it comes to remembering things so that was a nice added bonus for me
Asi Wind has always been one of my favourite creators and performers and this is no exception
Thnq ASI!
The only complaint I do have is if you are viewing the video on your phone like I am, when I put the video into landscape mode i can’t get it to be completely full screen. It’s not much of an issue but I just thought I would put it out there.
Overall great video and amazing effect!

However, this will take a very long time to learn so you will need to practice a lot. It is not a hard trick to perform, but definitely a more difficult one to learn.

The beauty of this is the memory it creates. David Blaine open's his vegas show's card set with this effect.
You need to know a stack in order to perform this and you'll need to practice one 'move' (if you can call it that) to look natural.

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.
jang asks: when did this lecture came out(year)?
- 1. Jim responds:This trick came out in 2018.
정세린 asks: Is it possible with a borrowed card?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:You'll have to use your own deck for this. However, if you're able to secretly setup a borrowed deck, then it is possible.
종민 asks: can I see this lecture in Korean?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Unfortunately, it is only in English.
Charlie asks: A) Would you have to know a stack by heart or could you just be able to calculate where in the deck the card is? For instance I have a system where they could say a random card and I could calculate the position of the card (quickly) using the suit and value, would it work for this trick? B) You said the stack could be new deck. Would it still make an impressive trick, seeing as he shows the cards at the beginning?
- 1. James responds:Knowing it by heart is best. Check out the Memory Arts book, if you need help knowing it by heart. I would personally not use the new deck order.
- 2. Miguel Ángel responds:Is the explanation only in English? miguelpueyo@msn.com
Tim asks: Hi - do you need to know the stack off by heart or could you have a crib? Is it essential to know the order and where a card lies in the stack too? Thanks
- 1. Sandy responds:You should learn the stack by heart. It is not that hard to learn. A crib would slow you down. Yes.
Raphael asks: What is the difficulty level? on a scale of 1-10. Thanks
- 1. Jim responds:That is always a subjective question. It depends on your skill level and your amount of experience as a performer. If you study the routine and practice with it, it will be within your difficulty level. If you don't study and don't practice, then the will be outside of your difficulty level.
- 2. Todd responds:Can you riffle the cards one at at time? Can you dump the cards out of a card box with one hand? If you answered yes to those two questions, then you can learn the sleight and do the trick . The sleight that is taught is not difficult and is extremely well hidden and completely justified in the structure of the effect. Even if you do it much slower than Asi, and are sloppy, the way it is done and the timing is hard to catch. Even if the audience does see something, the timing of the slight is such that they are unlikely to be suspicious that you even did anything. They will just think you were sloppy in handling the deck. It is very clever.
Charlie asks: 2 things: i see reviews about how you have to know mnemonica. can i do this with chased or some other stack? i also hear people talk about how there is a part that isn’t taught because it belongs to another magician. can i do this for just the 24 dollars or do i have to buy something else? nevermind, 3 things: can i do this with a year of magic experience?
- 1. Jim responds:It requires a memorized stack, so a plain chased would not work. You are taught what you need to know to perform the effect. Can you do this with any amount of experience? That depends. Are you dedicated and willing to practice and rehearse until you know the effect inside and out?
- 2. Todd responds:I bought this trick because I wanted motivation for learning mnemonica. This is a a fabulous introductory trick for mnemonica because you can control which card you start at so you don't have to worry about your first card being a random card in the stack and then having to calculate from there. You can always have the first card be a card in the stack order of your own choosing so it makes it much easier to know where the spectators card is located and what you have to do to get it to the right number. I am very excited about that idea because this is a beautiful effect that looks like you are doing nothing
seyeong asks: I don't know English very well, is it easy to understand?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Asi goes in-depth on the technique and provides close-up camera angles which really help with learning the routine.
seyeong asks: 1. What language do you explain? 2. I am a foreigner, would it be easy to understand?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:The video is explained in English.
Christopher asks: Do.i need.to know the mnemonica stack to.pull this off?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:You will need to know a stack, yes. But that could be new deck order.
