This is a wonderful piece taught well. This has become a fixed piece in my repertoire, and I've revisited it to write a review. The initial condition (mixture) and final condition (separation) are separated by an instantaneous moment--usually, the smaller the time between the initial and final conditions, the more striking the effect is. This has become my favourite oil and water sequence over the years.

Perform for magicians, this is strong

This is absolutely incredible, the most magical oil and water sequence I've ever learned. Wow.

I really like the effect, and also the psychology that Juan explains behind the trick that makes it very interesting to learn some things in the realm of magic that are great. From an inspired teacher of wonderful card magic. The video is top notch and it almost feels like you are sitting at the table with Juan learning and being inspired. Thank you all for this.

Amazing classic of card magic performed and taught my the modern master of magic: Juan Tamariz. I would use this as the final phase of an Oil and Water Routine as I believe it's that strong. Tamariz uses his Bold Oil and Water routine (you can find it in The Magic Way; another great book by Tamariz) before this routine. This is a very easy to set up but hard hitting routine for any oil and water. The visual showing of the integration of the two colors then the immediate separation is a feast for the eyes and the mind. Overall, one of the best gimmickless Oil and Waters out there taught by one of the best magicians.

Oil & Water has always been a slippery slope for performers. It’s always a good idea to watch a legend like Juan tip his hand with the effect, as he has always had an affinity for it. Kinda puts a thumb on the scale in its favor.

Juan Tamariz indeed is a legend and a master. I love his thinking and his talent at presenting his creations. It is interesting to me that--in my opinion--having English as a second language adds so much to his presentations; it allows him to move more slowly as he does the physical aspects of his effects. He is genius. I definitely will add this effect to my repertoire.

This is a nice, visual phase of Oil and Water that is easy to learn and perform.
It’s not a bad closer to put at the end of an existing Oil and Water routine. The tutorial video is about thirty minutes which is probably longer than it needs to be but he explains the psychology of each of his moves and the rhythm of everything in thorough detail so it’s worth taking the time.

Clean, simple and stunning reveal
