Double Lift Workshop

Has a good variety of double lifts and explains them clearly. He has good tips on fine tuning the lifts too.

Double lift is the very first basic technique that every magicians must know. But don't underestimate this sleight, even if you think you already know how to do a double lift. For me, I noticed myself that when I try to do double lift and when I do normal lift, the movement of my hand and fingers are different. Even if I have never been caught doing the double lift, but I realized that something need to be fixed. Doing the double lift that can deceive layman is easy, but to deceive magicians is very difficult. And since this is the most basic sleight of card magic, so I decided to make it most close to perfect as I could. And I found that this tutorial provides me exactly what I needed.



In this tutorial, there are several ways to do double lift. Some methods don't require any break beforehand, and these are very natural ways to do the sleight. Another methods might require a break, but the lift look so impossible to be 2 cards. Others are also nice, and fun to practice. Finally, Paul Wilson also added a bonus trick which require a lot of double lift, very good for practicing the sleight. And the effect is also great.

I have learned more from this video than any other magic video out there. This is truly a wealth of information for an outstanding price; it is worth at least 5 times more. Thank you Paul Wilson for sharing this with us and thank you Dan and Dave for making it available.

I got this video when I started out in magic. I knew that mastering a great double lift is one of the main basics in card magic. This video was a life saver for me. Paul also gives references so that anyone can look up the sleight and have a better understanding of it.

Love this video and Paul’s explanations. The double lift is crucial for any magician and there are so many good techniques and tips in this video that it is worth many times its cost. I would add Andi Gladwins master push off dvd has a much better and more in depth explanation of the push off but these double lifts are all good. I use the pinky count for most of my get readies for a double lift but I use several of these lifts all the time. Highly recommended.

The double lift has alluded me for so long. I have many videos on various methods , all requiring hours of practice. Paul Wilsons explanations are clear and concise, making practice a pleasure. His explanations with clear video and angles are quite a treat. By working on your doubles you will truly be doing the turn overs quite naturally. worth every penny.

Excellent tutorial teaching a number of different double lifts. Some more advanced but worth the effort. The extra trick included at the end is a great one utilizing the last method taught, but can be used with the other ways as well.

I'm not a card mechanic. I can do some card moves but I dread the double lift. I always struggle with the "get ready" and have not once pulled off a convincing double. There are several methods taught. The video isn't of the greatest quality but it doesn't need to be. It's mostly just a close up of the hands. I'm very happy to have purchased this.

25min video, good concise teaching everything well explained. Should find something useful in this video even if you already know multiple double lifts. Highly recommend for the tabled double alone.

I liked Backfire a lot and his resonant voice. I was not surprised I 'd learn as I did to improve my double. One of the main weaknesses of a double is it begs the question why do I need to put a card BACK ON TOP OF THE DECK to show the identity of the newlt-revealed card. I have the solution.

There is lots of good info and demos here. Paul is a great teacher and give a lot of details, tips, etc. The video is also shot very well and clearly. I learned a lot and will use what I’ve learned. I’d recommend this to anyone wishing to learn – or improve – their double lift.
