Contents of “Nuova Magia”

Hot Sandwich

This quick, flashy trick makes for the perfect card opener. A freely-named card is sandwiched face down between two face-up Jokers. The three-card packet is then lost in the middle of the deck. As you dribble the cards to the table, you showcase your lightning reflexes by reaching in and grabbing the selection. The cards are then spread to show that there is no longer a card between the Jokers.

Four Cards Transformation

Four indifferent cards are openly pulled from the deck and turned face down. Your participant picks one. You turn it over (let’s say it’s a Jack). The other three cards are then turned over to reveal they’ve transformed into the mates of the chosen card. This is the perfect way to get into your favorite four-of-a-kind trick. The clever method will also have you smiling from ear to ear. This fooler can be done with any deck, at a moment's notice.

Inertia Ace Production

A card is selected. Then you are able to quickly find its mates by “feel”. This is a very fun method that allows you to essentially perform a self-working bottom deal.

Semi Jazz Aces

This silky smooth take on the Jazz Aces is the perfect follow-up to the “Four Cards Transformation” or “Inertia Ace Production”. Four indifferent cards slowly morph back into the Four Aces. The routine has been carefully designed to reduce movement and streamline the effect so it looks cleaner and is much easier to do.

Impromptu Invisible Deck

The classic Invisible Deck routine but with a totally normal deck. A freely-named card is revealed to be the only one facing the opposite way in a deck of cards. Since the deck is normal, you’ll be able to launch right into your favorite card tricks. This will be a highlight for many. (NOTE: No gimmicks are needed, but you will need a quick setup.)

Chaotic Triumph

Building on a So Sato idea, Giancarlo has developed a natural and unbelievably fair Triumph effect that’s done in reverse. You start by showing the ending where the deck is all facing one way except for one card. Nobody is impressed. So, you decide to back things up and show them how you got there. The cards are then very clearly shuffled face up and face down into a sloppy, chaotic mess of cards. With a snap of your fingers, the cards then sort themselves back into the same ending condition your audience saw earlier. This time, they’re very impressed.

The Coins

The coins section contains a beautifully choreographed and direct coins through table routine and Giancarlo’s dazzling coins across called “Gravity Coins” where coins invisibly fall from hand to hand. You also love his “Tenkai Pennies” variation.

The Moves

This collection also contains some incredible moves that you will definitely use including a sneaky in-the-hands Kaps Force and a versatile card case utility move that can be used for switches, vanishes and more. The highlight though is definitely his work on the glide which will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about the classic move.

I just bought the video set and watched a couple of the videos. They are great! Well-taught, insightful commentary, simplicity in performance. Love them. This first paragraph is a grumble about *other* magic company’s bad production vales. Feel free to move straight to the second paragraph for more on this download.
First of all the good points. I’ve only watched three of the routines, but so far, there is no background music. No tinkling piano. No elevator music to set your teeth on edge! In fairness to Vanishing Inc, this is - thankfully - not something they go in for, yet there are well known and very talented magicians out there, (naming no names DG - even though your retention vanish is probably the finest on the planet!) who think wall to wall background ‘musak’ somehow enhances their work. It doesn’t. Secondly, there’s no fancy cuts. It’s all done pretty much straight to camera. There may be the odd c/u side view, where the performer suddenly gives the impression of speaking to an imaginary person just to your right! (I really wish this side shot affectation would stop. It's been popular for a few years now and is really irritating), thankfully it’s used sparingly. There’s no slow-mo sequences. No quick cuts. No ‘practise sessions’, seeing everything from multiple angles, (frequently a cue for more slow-mo and the editor throwing in some jaunty music!) The simplicity - and therefore clarity - of the performance, unencumbered by tired production values, is wonderfully refreshing. One man and his magic. I could watch it all day. Less is more. Well done Vanishing Inc.

Now the bad points. There are no bad points. Giancarlo is a wonderfully talented magician. The magic is straight forward and nicely demonstrated. From what I’ve watched so far, he takes a very practical approach, explains all the points you need to know, and none you don’t! There is no filler. No dressing any of it up into phycological mumbo-jumbo, (too many names to mention). No rambling, (ditto). Giancarlo's delivery is straight and to the point. And as for the magic? It’s standout. It shines. The best magic has the appearance of simplicity and should never outstay its welcome. This doesn’t. The audience never gets bogged down in convoluted plots where everyone eventually loses the will to live! There is a welcome brevity to Giancarlo work. Routines probably have two to three phases, tops. They are hard-hitting. They have charm, but most of all they have clarity. He snatches a chosen card from a dribbled deck and turns indifferent cards into Kings. And he gets there in the simplest and most economic way possible. It’s great stuff. Just learning his take on the glide was an eye-opener. Again, the simplicity of the move belays the power of the effect. Are the sleights attainable? Yes. Whereas practise is always key, nothing I’ve seen so far needs the skills of a move-monkey. So lots here to like, and - most importantly - lots that everyone can master. Giancarlo is a very talented magician. You would need a firehose to put this guy out! Talking of which. Come on everyone, dig into your pockets and do the right thing.

Nuova Magia is amazing. You get 12 individual tricks along with many other suggestions and ideas on how to expand the principle and develop new routines on your own. Each one of these is routines normally would sell for the price of all twelve. That's nuts! The quality of the video is excellent and crystal clear and the presentations followed by the explanations are easy to follow and understand (a young Dani D Jr.). There's no slap stick or wandering meaningless comments that lead away from what is being discussed and explained. This is a real no brainier. You won't go wrong.
I think you'll be surprised on just how much material is packed into this one download offering. Giancarlo is smooth in his presentations and straightforward in explaining every aspect of the item being presented. Lots of cards, several coins, and no knuckle busters. ENJOY!

Super excellent video. I don't buy videos normally but after watching him perform every effect on the video; which by the way is a super way to sell a video. Not just a sampling but actually demonstrates each and every one of the included effects; I had to buy it and I'm very glad I did. He is an actual teacher. He doesn't just show you how the tricks work he actually teaches you step by step and includes many additional well thought out ideas. It is well worth the price.

This is a superb collection of card effects by a master magician. The explanations are very clear and most of the effects do not require knuckle-busting moves. Of course they will require practice but that’s not really a chore with such great effects. There are several great utility moves included here and all should be within the reach of most magicians. Prepare to maze and be amazed!

This is a true masterclass in performance. Not only are the effects strong and very visual, but the teaching of how to handle your body and also how to think about what it is you are doing is superb. I have not actually practiced anything yet, I have just watched each tutorial and taken in the lessons and they really get your mind working. For someone who really wants to improve their performance skills this is a must have.

Giancarlo doesn't just present tricks, he also presents some great concepts that you can apply to many other tricks. What was amazing, is that some of the concepts were technically quite easy, but were extremely impactful. Buy this download if you like the tricks and note that you will get much, much more. This download was amazing. The tricks are great, easy to perform (except one...) and the explanations are detailed. Giancarlo explains *why* he does something in addition to *what* he does.
But my favourite parts were his deep dives into his mindset regarding technique, his tips for designing new handlings so that techniques feel more personal.

I primarily perform Mentalism with zero props or blank cards and a pen. However,I still have a soft spot for impromptu Magic and this download peaked my interest,as it included an easy/non-gaffed 'Invisible Deck' routine (Which is fantastic and you WILL use forever!!) The other routines/techniques taught are straight forward and simple to understand. There's a lot of useful advice too. He is a great teacher. Recommended!

The instructions for each effect are detailed, making it easy to follow along, with clear video and excellent audio quality to help grasp the nuances of each trick.

My personal favorites are the Semi Jazz Aces and Inertia Aces Production—both are creative and pack a punch in performance. I also really enjoyed the Four Card Transformation, and their Hot Sandwich trick stood out not just for the effect itself but also for the attention to detail, including crediting Joshua Jay's trick from his Magic Atlas. What I appreciate most about "NUOVA MAGIA" is how easily these tricks can be routined into your existing card set (I'm more into cards than the coins but appreciate the coin effects for sure!!) Some of them are even doable with a shuffled deck, which adds an extra layer of impressiveness to your performance. Overall, this collection is a great addition to any magician's repertoire, offering solid, audience-pleasing effects that you can confidently perform.

Nuova Magia is an enjoyable lecture containing powerful magic mostly with cards. Giancarl Scalia is an exceptional teacher, all effects are clearly demonstrated and explained without wasted time. Artistic style, techniques and storytelling help make the performances memorable. My favorites, subject to ongoing change, are Four Card Transformation, Impromptu Invisible Deck, Chaotic Triumph and Semi Jazz Aces. Look forward to a deeper dive into all these effects. Many of the concepts explained are versatile and could have applicability beyond the included effects. Highly recommended, particularly if you enjoy card magic.

I have only just started to watch Nuova magic and the first two effects I have watched are the coins across and coins through table and they are absolutely fantastic, his take on various coin moves makes these effects so much easier to learn and from now on will perform these two effects the same way and cant wait to learn the other magic in this set so I highly recommend this download.

A terrific collection of thoughtful, strong, and practical card magic by a name previously unknown to me. I purchased this download after being utterly fooled by the Triumph, and I was not disappointed by the method at play here; as a major collector of Triumph methods, this is one I can see using often in the right circumstances with a large enough table to work with. Hot Sandwich and Giancarlo's clever work on the Impromptu Invisible Deck are two other highlights here. Love it.
