Customer reviews for Plucked Aces

I absolutely love Chad’s style and teaching method. While he does talk fast and assumes some basics are under your belt on this one I don’t think it’s very difficult to perform it just takes some practice to get the moves down and synchronize properly to look really convincing. For me, this is a bridge piece in my set.

My review is not about the effect (which is good), but rather the prep for the effect - The teaching of this was very disappointing to me. This is not a critique of Chad's teaching style, which is clear, but of the content for the prep part.

I knew the main move used in this effect before hand, but I was actually more interested in the way Chad handled arranging the deck after the spectator's shuffle. In the performance video, this looks like he is just going through the deck, the was no evident C***ing and this looked very elegant. Was he C***ing to the middle and then doing some unseen P*** ? It all looked very disarming and I was willing to pay the price of the download to learn just this, as a good technique for this is useful for many tricks.

However, in the effect's teaching, Chad describes prepping the lower part of the deck by cutting it - which he didn't do in the performance.
Also, the upper part of the deck is prepped by C***ing to the bottom part of the faceup deck - A standard move. In the performance, I don't see this happening (look at the top card of the deck).

What it looks like is that at the performance, Chad had the deck already prepped and use a S****** that kept the top and bottom stacks intact. Then he went through the deck, without doing any of the two steps mentioned above.
