Side Steal

The tutorial is very great. It doesn't only focus on the palming technique, but also on the moment you should do the palm. Side steal can be done just in the moment that one hand transfer a deck to the other hand. The move isn't that very difficult but you will need to practice to make it flow with your motion. The side steal only, can be done as a great color change effect, or it could be done to steal a card from anywhere of the deck.

I agree with the other review there. Some nice basics for the color change, but the trailer sowed way more than you actually get.

This video has some pretty good tips, and is almost certainly worth $6, but it is not as advertised. What you get is Carney's tips on motivation and using the Side Steal as a color change and/or steal from the bottom. You don't get any kind of detail on the general-purpose version of the move (less than a minute at the end), and you don't get any mention of the Bold Steal or variations mentioned in the trailer. In fact, it seems like the trailer may be cut from a totally different project. Again, if you're just looking for a few of Carney's always-interesting touches, then go for it. If you're starting from zero and want to learn the Side Steal, look elsewhere.

Due to chronic dryness of the hands, I've spent a lifetime avoiding the sidesteal. Properly "lathered up," I can do the steal as taught in these videos. My concern is that though Carney demonstrates several variations in the "performance" video, he explains only one in the "explanation" video — the steal from the bottom of the pack. The explanation itself is more detailed on the psychology and timing of the steal than on the fine points of such details as finger placement and grip, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and those details can be gleaned from repeated viewings. Excellent overall, but I do miss the explanations of the variations.

The tutorial is rather short. However I got a few great tips that make my side steal easier and probably more deceptive.
