Slipshift

Just bought it. There isn't much to say other than this is one of those changes that when done correctly looks like real magic. Clear, straight forward instructions and I'm happy to see Chris getting the recognition he deserves. With that said this move is delightfully knacky. I can't wait to master it.

"Check this out" he said to me, almost in passing. With intrigue, my eyes hypnotized by the fluidity of his dexterous fingers, he flawlessly displayed the impossible. A single card perfectly morphed into another. Followed by displaying both sides, swaying back and forth. Perfect. The finale was a smirk, and a knowing wink, returning the changeling back to its resting place on top of the deck. I attempted to verbally protest, but my words were lost in the childlike wonder he regressed a grown skeptic into.



Perfect. That is the only adjective that can be given to his magnum opus. With great pride, he imbues this power to you. Use it well. Wield it wisely.

Chris has put a ton of work into this sleight and it shows in the thorough teaching provided in the download. This move is one with tons of potential, and when executed properly can be an extremely powerful one for magicians and laymen alike.

This move is so great, when done right looks like real magic! It is one of the most brilliantly knacky sleights i have come across but it is incredible! The teaching is great and covers all points. The alternative change is great also and I love the control, both great fun to play with. It'll take a while to get it as smooth as Chris does but I'm sure it is worth it for that amazing, visual change, can't wait to master it. For it to be a fair review i must mention it is a bit angle sensitive but nothing good audience management couldn't sort out. Overall a great product and a bargain!!

You can really see that Chris has put a ton of work into this. The move is really hard and definitely something for all the "move monkeys". If you perform this correctly it looks like real magic. A very nice thing about it is that you can change it multiple times as well. I love this move and I would recommend it to anyone. I will continue practicing this move until I perfect it, and I hope you will too.

When done correctly, this looks like real magic. It's knacky, but when you hit it, it feels amazing. On the teaching front, this is well shot, has clear instructions and all round has the D&D feel. Not a lot more to say than that really. Looks magical, fun to practice, works in real world applications and is incredibly well shot and well taught. Great work Chris and D&D!

The Slipshift from Chris Ramsay is a great sleight that is demanding on time and on your hands. The tutorial is complete and explains several times so we do not have to always hit the rewind button. Personally, I always like it when the author adds some bonus section to a video. Here, we have more than one added section, a little routine and a control. Thanks for the quality but please excuse me as I will have to go back to practice!

If you like The Clip Shift, this is at the same level of difficulty and wonder. A wonderful utility move well taught and filmed, what more could you want?!

Practice, practice, practice. A super fun trick to learn, just like praxis control. I've received a lot of advice from Chris, and this is definitely a must buy. Very clean and visual trick. I highly recommend this!

This change has already made my fingers cramp!! But it is so worth it once you get. This is definitely for the move monkeys out there. It's beautiful and tremendously knacky, my favorite combination. Pick it up, you wont be disappointed. Montreal represent!

If you're anything like me and love knacky moves then you should pick this up! Other than being knacky, I love how the move can be done with minimal movement. The motion makes the change much more impressive other than a change that involves a violent shaking motion. The price is right so I defiantly would recommend it!

This is one of those things that just looks beautiful and feels smooth in the actions of carrying out the move. It's also one of those things that takes time and dedication to master, even though the method is so simple and pure.



I recommend this for card magicians, especially move-monkeys, and others who love the move called 'The Clipshift' (search for: Surfaced by Chad Nelson here on dananddave.com for more information). I respect Chris' dedication, effort and also for the fact of not giving up on this beautiful piece of wonder, to both laymen and magicians/card technicians.



I hope to see more from Chris' side soon, and I recommend this to all people, really. It's just a must learn.

Slipshift is a must have! Eloquent and simple in it's presentation, it will take time and dedication to master. Chris' explanation is clear and direct. He breaks down the effect into easy to follow concise steps. I am inspired!

I was very skeptical of this color change when I saw it for the first time. I think Chris showed it to me at a convention last year, and the color change it self blew me away, there's no doubt about that. But again I was a skeptic.



I don't remember if he showed me the technique, but I think he did. And when I saw the release here I didn't buy it straight away, because I remembered that a guy had showed it to me.

but after a few days I bought it...

And the teaching here is AMAZING! Chris makes it seems incredibly easy despite the difficulty of the move, but he covers everything and after 2 - 3 weeks I got this down.

I actually prefer the variation he teaches, but I do use the other one too! This is a move especially for you move-monkey-magicians out there, but if you're not a move-monkey fan as I am...Still buy it! you'll love this one anyway!

So if you're in the same boat as I was, wondering wether or not you should buy it....

This is one of those things that is going to deprive me of any sleep for the next year as I try to get it down as good as Chris. He performs it like a god and explains it very clearly. Definitely a good buy.

Simple is good and what Chris has created is golden. It is fast, clean and extremely effective once you've got it down. It will take some work to become familiar with the required movements but after your first day you will already start to see the development. Overall I would give yourself about a week to learn this move and a solid month to master it.

There's two ways to spend spring break. The first of which is spending time with friends, drinking, and traveling. The other is working hard, and learning the slipshift for days on end. I chose the second, and I can honestly say that this move was entirely worth it. Not only is it a beautiful, elegant color change, but it can help improve finger muscles and can also help with other applications. I love this move, and with practice it can look amazing and is very practical. The slipshift is amazing, knacky, and a lot of fun to both learn and perform.

This is a beautiful change and is well taught with 2 camera angles, but boy is it hard. The video makes it look easy, but after a week and after practicing while watching a few movies, I'm only now starting to get the basics down. Hand lotion helps for the first part, but the allignment part of the move is still giving me fits. If I ever get this down, though, it'll look awesome!

I have been learning card magic for about four months now and Slipshift is one of the best color changes I have had the pleasure to learn. In the video, Chris explains in superb detail how to master this effect. It definitely takes patience and practice, but once you 'get it,' it just keeps getting better every time. Personally, I love Slipshift because it leaves your audience in awe and it can be used in a variety of routines. Thanks, Chris, for coming up with such a great trick!

A really clever and fun sleight. Falls well and truly into the category of "knucklebuster" but looks so good once you get it down. Worth every penny.

I'm impressed not only with the detail with which Chris lays out the color change, but with the confidence he instills even in a ultra-beginner that this is an accomplishable trick if you put the time in. But more than just saying, "practice, practice" he details how progress will come, and ways to ease yourself into practice.



His step by step is clean, clear, and comprehensible, and, even more important, his identifications of the difficulties you're going to face early on are helpful. It's the kind of video that helps you push through the early frustration and get to that first satisfying bit of progress very quickly.

Holy color change. This is easily going to be one of my three go to color changes. It's way more practical and accessible than I thought it would be. You can definitely do this! The alternate change looks beautiful on camera. I follow Chris on Instagram, and everything that resonates in his pictures and videos clearly went into the making of this move and this video. Great angles on the instruction, straight to the point, and totally clear. I look forward to devoting my hours to Slipshift :)

This is one of the best sleights I have ever learned since my two years of being in the magic industry. The color change/control is clean and visual leaving laymen baffled! I am looking forward to Chris's new sleights as the the years go by. Great Job!

I really enjoy this color change, and it deserves to have a lot of practice put into it. When Chris showed this to me I was amazed, and surprised that it wasn't really hard to start with. The harder part I have to face now is to end clean with the move, and I haven't worked on the angles for an audience performance yet. This opens a lot of doors for both magicians and cardists, and you can really have a lot of fun learning it! Chris has come up with so many cool moves recently, I hope to see some of his work featured on this website in the future. Bravo Chris!

I purchased this a few days ago, and have been practicing it everyday since. It does take a good amount of practice and patience... but it is well worth the time and effort. Chris gives great detail on the explanation as well, and the double camera views help very much. One of the best color changes by far. My hand did hurt a bit after the first couple days of practice, but it hurt so good...

This effect is great for anyone with a lot of time to practice. It goes in great depth as to how to make this effect perfect. However once again it requires time. You will not master this technique after a day or two of buying it, you must practice a lot. However he did a great job with this tutorial and this effect is one every magician whats to know. being able to change a card right in front of the spectators face is one of the strongest effects there are. I would say this is a must have but only for more advanced magicians.

Chris Ramsay with his big beard, tattoos, and street swag. Handles cards so elegantly and classicly. Though a difficult move to master. In the art of magic what isnt difficult. This shift is beautiful and can be used in unlimited ways. A touch of Daniel Madison with a little added Micheal Vincent.

This effect is just pure gold. Smooth, elegant, nearly invisible. It needs some angles that's true and also needs a lot of practise to get same effect as Chris shows but it's absolutely worth every single penny. Just buy it and amaze people!

It's not too hard to get the hang of but It's very hard to do perfect. That's why I love it. So fun to practice and a fair price. Chris has done an awesome job on this Amazing color change.

I am a fan of Chris Ramsay and other likewise professionals and try to support as often as I'm able to.
The instruction was of the highest level and detail. Chris covered EVERYTHING in crystal clear order of performance. Every possible nuance was discussed and alternate angles/troubleshooting were aptly described.
Chris stated this is not an easy SLEIGHT;however, if constant work and diligent time are given (as with any Art/Sport/Hobby/)to this production improvement will be gained.
I watched it again and was truly blown away by the depth/passion/skill Chris has obtained with devotion to his craft, Buy this..
Just for that reason alone and you will not be disappointed in the least. ? MAGIC

I have been a big fan of Chris’ for years now and have seen all of his effects over the years and can tell you - this is a great effect by an even greater Magician. This effect is very difficult and isn’t for beginners. Magicians that have been around for a few years and have practiced difficult sleights before should attempt this as the effect is ingenious. It is very interesting. You would need to practice this for a long time in order to make it look smooth but when you get it done you’ll be so psyched. It’s a great effect and the explanation is great and well-made. This is worth so much more than $10.

this is the most insane video ive ever seen when it comes to learning card tricks. however as ive already learnt it. im more interested in the cards themself, would anyone happen to know the name of this deck?
