Paul Wilson’s streamlined handling of the iconic “Dunbury Delusion” solves many of the problems impacting the famous card trick to create an impromptu card magic miracle with a shocking ending that will leave every audience floored.

“Undone Delusion” is offered as part of an amazing "Four Foolers Paul Wilson Download Bundle" available only at Vanishing Inc. While you can get it now on it’s own, you can also save 60% by grabbing the incredible discounted download deal.

A playing card is selected and lost in the deck. You discuss how you’re about to perform a mathematical card trick with some pretty mind-blowing concepts at work. You’re not entirely sure how it works; but, after a couple shuffles, the four playing cards on the top of the deck should be able to be added together to tell you the position of their selected card in the deck.

The deck is shuffled before the top four cards are shown and added up. They reach the number 24 (or whatever it may be). Unbeknownst to you though, their selection has somehow been mixed in with that bank of cards, which is now face down on the table.

Unknowingly, you continue with the trick as planned, dealing cards until you reach the number from before (24 in this case). You proudly claim that the card you stopped on will be their card, oblivious to the fact that the audience is nervously awaiting what they expect to be a failed magic trick. There’s no way it can be their card since they just saw in the packet of cards that’s sitting on the table.

You may have to help them pick their jaws up off the ground when you turn over the card to show it is impossibly their chosen card. As if that wasn’t enough, when they inevitably check to see if their card is still in the tabled packet, they’ll be shocked to find it’s not only not there, but there’s now only three cards.

Customer reviews for Undone Delusion

Nathan
This is such a good, entertaining video. I have learnt much from it and will continue to do so for some time. A video you can continuously go back to. Great watch. A must but for most magic people! You should buy it now!!
Steve
Great version of the Dunbury Delusion. The Ed Marlo move provides a nice, efficient way to get ahead, Everything that takes place is part of a logical flow that makes perfect sense from a process and presentation standpoint. Magicians are undoubtedly familiar with the basic effect. The surprise ending will garner a great reaction from laypersons.
Stuber
I already knew that trick but I was interested in the exact handling and the video. Great trick but there are some details missing in the video... If the riffle shuffle with that special something was explained better you would get 5 Stars @vanishingincmagic: Maybe you could add this detail...

Awesome

I already knew this routine from Tamariz and I have to admit that I was very surprised by the variation proposed by Paul Wilson. The result is very good and I think it solves complications for those who are not too skilled in the complex sleights of the original routine. Thanks to this video I have learned two very interesting techniques that I did not know and that will help me, beyond this attractive routine, in transpositions and card controls. Very interesting subtleties. Take advantage of the opportunity!
Jake
Phenomenal effect! I was concerned when I first saw this trick thinking it would be a funny full deck setup, but I was completely wrong! It is totally impromptu and a very shocking and baffling trick that not only fools spectators but magicians as well. Paul teaches multiple moves that I will also be using in other effects as well. Paul Wilson does not cease to amaze!
Peter
It’s a lovely effect and well worth the Black Friday give-a-way price. I could write a book on how unfortunate the video edit (at 53 seconds in) is, especially as it’s entirely unnecessary, but leaving that aside, this trick holds two brilliant moves that are well executed and can be used in many effects. The trick is nicely - and concisely - explained with no unnecessary tangents or waffle, (getting harder to find these days) and no annoying background music. (Ditto) Just excellent magic, well executed and clearly explained. And - thankfully - no screaming spectators or people rushing away as if struck by voodoo (hello Penguin!) A breath of fresh air. Buy it.

Paul Wison’s “Undone Delusion” card download is a clever, interactive and fooling version of the classic “Dunbury Delusion” effect. The clearly taught routine includes an effective Ed Marlo switch and a Paul Wilson sleight, worth the price of the download (even if it was regularly priced) -- a CAAN move that can be used for other card routines.
George
Fun trick with tips on a nice tabled control and an Acaan tool you'll find lots of use for. R.Paul has Dun it again!
Dan
Only 1 minutes of instruction but I learned so much about card manipulation that I can really use (my hands are VERY small and card manipulation is hard for me), but I'm sure with enough practice I'll be showing this to family soon. I am a rank amateur, but I feel those who have a great deal of card magic experience will get something out of this too.
Phillip
This is a wonderful version of the Dunbury Delusion. No knuckle busters, easy sleights. The routine's construction is beautiful. I am going to adopt this version immediately! Don't hesitate, get this now. I believe you'll like it even if you have another version of the classic effect.
Michael
Very interesting take on a classic. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of "That's It" and it's variations so I really like the alternative for showing the cards and retaining the chosen card. I have never hear of Paul's ACAAN (or in this case CCAAN) but it is a fantastic move for this trick and now I'll be looking for other tricks I can use it. Great download and great teaching!
Angel
Very nice and straight forward presentation with a nice kicker ending; I’m not a fan of snapping fingers for the “magical cause,” but that’s a matter of taste. The card techniques taught are excellent utility moves that can easily be added to other routines. The explanation is clear and very easy to follow. Highly recommend.
Jonathan
Very simple but effective version of the Dunbury Delusion. Paul Harris has both simplified and elevated the effect.

You will learn a simple Marlo control, a Brother Hamman false display, and a move used by Harris from another effect to make this effect work. Everything flows together naturally and there are no difficult sleights.

The trick is short, to the point, and will baffle a lay audience. You end up with both a card at random number as well as a kicker transposition (? teleportation) that doubles the mystery of the effect.

Well choreographed and with maximal bang for the buck. Recommended.
Todd
Great effect for $0.99 (black Friday special) plus he teaches three great utility moves (a control, a brother hammond count and then his ACAAN control to get a card to the named number) that I did not know as part of the trick so it was well worth it just for that.
Glenn
Much can be learned from this.
Scott
Great effect, I’m not the best card handler, but the sleights don’t appear to be too difficult to master. For my old hands it may take a bit of practice. I don’t think this will be very hard for many younger card magicians.
Well taught by Mr. Wilson. Nice to have the history of the trick as well.
Michael
This is the first time I've felt compelled to learn the Dunbury Delusion. In the process of learning Paul's handling I've just discovered two golden moves I'll use to accomplish a control to the top and a control to any position in the deck. I bought it because it was on sale at a discount, but at full price it's still good eatin'.
Bob
Don't know if I'd ever do it, but really neat trick
Paul
I loved this trick. It taught me some new, simple but excellent and easy manipulations that I have not come across before so was all the better for that. Great and amazing effect.
Scott
Terrific trick and the moves taught can be applied to other methods of handling cards. It is a terrific download.
Ryan
Lots of insight and some great utility moves. Great trick that can be played around with and made to fit different presentations. Like the impromptu nature of this trick as well. Explanation was great, but could’ve went a little slower on some points but overall was easy to follow. Good tips on presentation that could be overlooked and helps make the trick more powerful.
Robin
R. Paul Wilson is one of the great thinkers in modern card magic, with terrific chops to boot. This is a beautiful rendition of the classic Dunbury Delusion (which RPW identifies as a modified version of the much older Partagus Sell). RPW combines techniques from Marlo, Hamman and himself to streamline the handling. Good news: the necessary sleights are not knuckle-busters and can easily be attained!

This is an excellent download which teaches a strong routine using three techniques that will be applicable to hundreds of other effects.
Craig
What a fantastic effect. Just three moves that take practice, but are very strong. Paul Wilson gives great, simple, straightforward teaching. He explains the thinking and motivation for every move concentrating on fluidity. Very happy with this download. Glad I picked up the $.99 download sale. Looking forward to checking out the other three in the series.
Mark
This is a very nice effect with great teaching. I already have YAMFACAAN so I recognised the ACAAN at the end and it is also taught here. The only hard part is when Paul riffle shuffles to drop 3 cards on top, most people will find this difficult. Paul does this effortlessly, I would do it with an overhand shuffle. The card switch taught is superb and worth the cost of the download by itself as it could be used in many effects
Aiden
Beautiful magic trick, well explained and taught, the effects it will have on magic will be powerful in performances and household shows etc, I enjoyed learning it and the moves he teaches don't just only work on this. They can be used for so much more, plus giving you book titles etc, thus making this completely worth buying it, I would recommend to any magician professional or new
tony
Very good .
Aaron
Simple. Direct. Killer.
Octavio
Great trick! The method alone can be used for many incorporated into other tricks!
Kane
This one is pretty good! At first, I didn’t think I would like this one because it seemed a little sequential to me, but after watching it again, I think there’s value to this one, especially at the table. There are two to three moves that you need to go over, but he’s a great teacher and you’ll feel ready for performing after you’re comfortable with the moves.
Jason
I love this, the switch that Paul uses is extremely clever. In fact, the whole trick is extremely clever. Well worth the asking price!
George
Im a beginner

Great how it feels to hit it!
Practice practice practice, cause Mr Wilson makes it look silky smooth.

the delay hit with the packet is nice, found it best to let it be discovered/examined without mention, just as instructed by Mr Wilson.

The routine’s construction is elegant, and the inclusion of an ACAAN move adds depth. Clear instructions ensure a foolproof performance every time. A must-have for any card magician’s repertoire.
