With your back turned and deck held behind you, a card is freely selected. It then vanishes and, when you turn to face your participant again, is shown to have appeared in your mouth.

Richard Sanders is one of the most prolific creaters in the magic community. This is a beautifully constructed routine and very magical. Would I suggest that you purchase this? Absolutely! However, I have to put this on my, SOP list. Personally, I do believe it is Slightly Over Priced.

Great trick and very surprising. It has a very simple sleight, or a more advanced one if you're into sleight of hand. You can easily go into an Ambitious routine, or just do the three routines this teaches. The tutorial is great and he spends a lot of time explaining the nuances of the trick. This goes into my strolling set immediately!

Richard Sanders does it again! 30 Seconds to Stun is instantly going into my set. All three phases are KILLER and provide so much surprise for the audience. You can also pick and choose what phases you perform: All three, just 1 and 2, just 1 and 3, etc. The gimmick is simple but effective and well made. My only gripe is the price point: $34.95 for this is kinda wacky to me. $24.95 seems more appropriate with what you get. That's about it in terms of cons. 30 Seconds to Stun is full of pros and I can't wait to see what sort of reactions it inspires in the real world.

Richard Sanders got me again!!!! When I received the effect in the mail, I was like "how am I supposed to do what he did in the trailer for the three different phases with just one little gimmick?" When I watched the explanation, I was completely fooled by his simplistic, but well orchestrated misdirection. Great addition to my ambitious card routine. Though there are no knuckle-busting sleights, he does warn about doing this without taking the time to practice and perfect this wonderful effect. Kudos to Sanders!!!!!!!

Richard Sanders has created something very special here. From the audience perspective, you performed magic. Not a magic trick, but magic. And when you crush them alone or with others in a group, they will react just as they do in the videos.

1) If it’s at a wedding, or other strolling function, they are going to going to grab people they know, so that they can watch them react as they did. It’s very similar to the bunnies in that respect.

2) You can only follow 30 Minutes to Stun with gold. You can’t go from screams to “oh, that’s clever.”

Richard has us covered with multiple phases to choose from, so you can mix and match how to stun them. So as with card under drink, you can blow them away multiple times.

After spending a day performing this for as many people as I could and because it was so much fun and the reactions matched the audience reactions on the download, 30 Seconds to Stun will be my card opener in professional settings.

I have been performing "Behind my Back" from Richard Sanders "Close Up Assassin" for well over a two decades. It's been a staple of both my Strolling and Close Up Magic Shows. Hands down, my favorite card effect out there by far. Super fast, zero skill involved allowing me to focus on making a connection with my audience.

When I saw this trailer, I knew it was the same routine, just repackaged and rebranded. I didn't care. I purchased it anyway and I am NOT disappointed. There is so much more thinking on this since the original publication dropped that is worth the cost of this and more. I was intrigued by the addition of the two additional phases and whereas I don't think I'd use all three phases together in a single routine, I will definitely be using these ideas with other routines I do.

Well done Richard Sanders! Thanks for making all of look good for a very long time!

As far as ease of performance compared to the wow factor, you'd be hard-pressed to beat this one. It's a really easy to perform trick, but takes practice to perform it well. Every move is made at certain points for a reason, and when you follow Richard's advice, you'll leave your spectators stunned. If you jump into it too quickly, you might give away the kicker too soon or their attention might not be on the right place at the right time. I encourage you to practice the timing on this a lot before you perform it. It's a little pricey for what it is, but it will become a standard in your routines after you do it.

When I saw the gaff, I laughed out loud.

This is a type of gaff that I have been building and using for over 50 years (yes, I really am that old...) that has always amazed and baffled laymen and most other magicians. In all those years, I have had only one fellow magician take me aside and comment on my use of a gaff that he also routinely used.

I laughed because I was totally "stunned" by the presentation, and thought it was great fun to find out that one of my own favorite secret weapons had so completely astonished me.

Richard's gaff design is slightly different from the ones I have built and still do build, but the tool itself really is very versatile. After you get one, you will find many more uses for it. In fact, I have a complete 12 to 15 minute close up routine I use where the gaff sits in the deck unnoticed until I use it for the closer in a presentation quite different from the one here...And it always creates a great response. One of my favorite uses is a no-fuss card to Porper Steel Box, where the box has been locked in full view with an audience member holding the key from the start of the routine, and the deck has been used for 6 or seven other effects.

Buy it...Not only is Richard's presentation great, but the gaff is a great utility piece for any closeup presentation.

This kills! When I first saw the trailer, I thought to myself, "How in the world are you going to get away with that three times in a row?" but Richard Sanders has come up with a way, and it's really great. People can't believe it when you make the card disappear from the deck (their perception, at least) and appear in your mouth without even touching the cards. I love this so much and I want to do it everywhere now. Just a heads up, this is not a trick you can repeat with the same group. In fact, you wouldn't want to do this repeatedly at a party unless you make your own gimmick(s) (which is not hard, once you see what it is). This is what I did so that now I can do this for multiple people at a function and even if they compare notes, there's nothing for them to discover. Highly recommended!

The gaffs are good, the routine is solid. The effect is powerful. Why then did Richard Sanders feel the need to deceive with a trailer that is patiently misleading? It fooled me along with many other magicians into thinking this involved a novel and apparently exceptionally clean technique for Card to Mouth. You'll notice in the trailer that Richard's arms are by his side as he turns around. The card magically appears in his mouth. This is very different from the method in the tutorial, which does not allow for this clean positioning. The method is instead what we would all otherwise have suspected. It's just disappointing that someone of Sanders' reputation is resorting to misleading trailers like this.

I’m a huge Richard Sanders fan, so I was excited to snag this. It doesn’t disappoint. Most importantly for me, as an amateur, was the quality of the instruction. It’s well lit, well shot, and well mic’d… and Richard does an excellent job explaining each phase (including alternate handlings, phase order, and more). Exactly the quality I would expect! Thanks!!

A very simple card trick with very clear video instructions, I was able to do this within 10 minutes of watching the video it is very easy to do, The only tricky bit is getting the rifle to stop at the right place it sometimes goes past the spot but with practice it is a total mind blower.
I like easy tricks to do for family and friends and this hits the spot it totally amazed them all, you do need to use your own deck but that is not a problem, this is well worth the money and it has fooled everyone so far I would recommend buying this.

Once, I saw the tutorial I was thrilled by the simplicity and hardhitting this effect is. I love all of the three phases demonstrated and second phase was simply a great addition to the ambitious card routine instead of the typical card to mouth used most often. The name speaks for itself.

Let's get this out of the way first - Richard Sanders is a genius. He has a knack for coming up with amazing effects, that can be performed anywhere, and "blow away" your Audience. When Richard says this is his ONE "go to" effect, he means it. Easy to do, and will "kill" an Audience. I have no doubt this will get you gigs.

Richard Sanders is the man. I do many of his tricks. These Canadians have creative mind. I like the different versions of the effect and the follow-up or the second phase you can do. I also like how you can incorporate this into your existing ambitious card routine. The method is so simple but strong. The reactions in the video are powerful. Truly stun your spectator with this effect. I highly recommend this trick to anyone.

Adam responds:In a world of theoretically endless tricks, certainly more than anyone could conceivably perform, if you don't want to put a card in your mouth, maybe choose an effect where the card doesn't go in your mouth? Not every effect needs to be performable by everyone in every situation.
    • 2. Craig responds:I don't think lipstick should disqualify someone from performing this. I'm not familiar with the method, but I assume you could clip the card to your necklace or top just as quickly with the right kind of clip. Maybe you could use The Gold Standard by David Regal.
