Created by Brian Kennedy, 50Fifty is an incredible stage illusion that you can perform in close up conditions.
A freely selected card is signed and then placed into a card case.
Two other cards are used as blades and used to divide the card case in half.
In a moment of pure close up theatre the box is parted leaving a visual work of art for your spectators to take in.

In brief, making the prop is a chore. But once you get past that hurdle, I think you might enjoy Kennedy’s clever thinking behind the trick. The effect can be performed completely surrounded, though care needs to be taken when inserting the signed card into the box and also when removing it, and there are no gaffs to be found. Just remember that the advertising video makes this look better than reality. Nonetheless, it’s worth checking out for its novelty value and strong presentational hook.
