I see that the spectator can hold both of the matched cards at the end. Will they be able to detect if one or both cards are gimmicked or thin cards? Are both cards standard Bicycle cards? Can the spectator see both sides of the matched cards at the end?

Both cards feel exactly the same but they cannot see both sides.

How is this different from Predicshuns or Touch?

Very different. While the deck construction might be similar, the effects and possibilities are different.

Can you shuffle the deck? Can this be done with small hands? Can you use any deck of cards (e.g. Phoenix)?

You cannot shuffle the deck. There is a handling if you have small hands. You have to use the deck that is provided but you can use a Phoenix card as a cover card.

Super smart thinking by David Regal again. I was fooled by the trailer on first viewing as what I saw and what I thought I saw didn't match. And that's because everything the construction of the routine is well thought out. The subtleties aren't just magician-pleasers, they're psychological touches that genuinely affect your spectators' perception of what they're seeing.
It comes with a special envelope for an easier handling. To be honest, I don't think I'll use it with the Canon deck but it will come in useful for many other mentalism prediction-style routines.
The teaching and product are A+++. Very reasonably priced too.

The laws of physics clearly forbid the immediate production of an honestly thought of single card from a box sitting in full view, by a sleeveless magician, as seen in the video.
Remarkably, David Regal’s Canon does just that. His brilliant gimmick and excellent teaching is going to make this the perfect addition to my daily carry deck.

I will need a bit of rehearsal of David’s unique moves and some creative thinking for my own personality, but I can’t wait to get out and perform my own versions of reality-bending, logically impossible, close-up Canon miracles.

I love Canon! It is an absolutely wonderful set of divination and chosen card production techniques. All its details are taken care of with great care, the phases of the routine perfectly justified and the sleights are super basic and simple. The card is produced in an organic and lethal way. Canon by David Regal is a powerful and direct card prediction of any card named. Particularly flexible -- can use the back design of the cards of your choice. Flexibility also extends to how to produce the prediction card using the special packing envelope provided or more advanced handlings including a second card box. I prefer an envelope that fits in my pocket to avoid carrying a second deck of cards.

I'm a big fan of David Regal's work and this is among his best. It's a fun product. I like the clever way it works and it's relatively easy to do with very few moves. It allows you to focus on the routine and your connection with the audience instead of complex sleights. I have a good number of prediction gimmicks (predicted card in an envelope, etc), but this is one of my favorites. I use a different plot than he does, but this utility allows for a whole lot of creativity. I definitely recommend it.

I liked the tutorial very much. It was explained very well and was easy to follow. The trick is very easy to learn, it is very cleaver and there are many different approaches you can take with it, it just depends on what you are comfortable with. Tricks like these are great because they require little too no effort but they hit hard. The idea and the visuals are really good and will have your audience thinking. Get this one, I think you will be very pleased that you did.

Great trick, gets a good response. I thought I might have trouble attaining the audience’s selected card but that’s the easy part. The gimmick is easy to manipulate and requires a couple of minutes practice, that’s all.
The explanation is detailed and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend this.

David Regal is a Master and this is another reason why. This is a great effect and one of the methods is extremely easy to do with just a couple of minutes practice. There are additional reveal moves that do require more practice if you don't know how to perform them. I don't use the routine with the envelope but it is easy and sure-fire. Just another perfect Regal effect. Highly recommended. A+++++
