Cardtoon (Vanishing Inc. Edition)
Cardtoon (Vanishing Inc. Edition)

New card stock. New illustrations. New secret. One of the most beloved card tricks of all time is back in a new, upgraded version.
Dan Harlan’s "Cardtoon" is one of the bestselling card tricks of all time.
It's easy to see why too: it's simple to perform, incredibly direct, and features an unforgettable visual. Now, with the brand-new "Cardtoon - Vanishing Inc. Edition", this modern classic has been elevated to a new level.
For those unfamiliar with the original—or those who need a refresher—here’s what happens:
A participant freely names any card. You then flip through the deck like a flipbook, revealing a stick figure magician who pulls their exact card out of a hat. It's a perfect prediction of a genuinely free choice.
You won’t believe how easy this is to perform. Even a complete beginner could start performing this within minutes of opening the box.
What’s new with the Vanishing Inc. Edition of “Cardtoon”?
We worked directly with Dan Harlan to redesign the artwork. The cards are also now printed on premium crushed Bicycle stock, making them smoother to handle and more durable than ever before.
The biggest change though, is the sneaky new secret: “Cardtoon - Vanishing Inc. Edition” is the first version of this gimmicked deck to come in Mnemonica order. This small, but vital, change gives you two massive advantages.
- You can now show the deck face up like it’s a genuinely shuffled deck
- If you’re familiar with Mnemonica, you can also cut right to the named card instead of having to openly search for it in the deck—making the whole trick more fooling than ever
Don’t know Mnemonica? No problem. The original handling still works just as well.
Don’t let the illustrations fool you into thinking this is just a cute trick for kids. “Cardtoon” is a mind-blowing miracle that crushes audiences of any age. With this new Vanishing Inc. Edition, it’s even better than ever.
Grab your copy of “Cardtoon - Vanishing Inc. Edition” and get ready to fall in love—or fall in love again—with your new favorite card trick.
Customer reviews for Cardtoon (Vanishing Inc. Edition)
This new stacked version takes everything I love about the original and makes it so much smoother. The added structure makes the handling cleaner and more fooling, especially for repeat performances. The improvement is subtle but powerful — I didn’t realize how much I needed this upgrade until I tried it!
If you love strong, visual magic that’s easy to carry and packs a punch, this version of Cardtoon belongs in your set. It’s earned a permanent spot in mine.
Also, the advantage to new deck order is that it’s way easier to reset the deck. Only those who know Mnemonica will be able to reset it by merely spreading through the faces. Otherwise, your reset just got uglier and longer.
The new artwork is cute but Card-Toon Remastered made a change to the artwork that’s actually a step forward which is to make the final reveal image of the card bigger and more visible.

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.
Jeff asks: The marketing images for this show Maiden backs, but the demo shows Mandolin backs. Not that it really matters, but which is it?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:I believe they are Mandolin Backs
Erica asks: I have two questions. can the deck be shuffled, and can the deck be handed out for inspection
- 1. Jeff responds:Can’t be shuffled or inspected without a deck switch.
Steven asks: Is this the classic method or the one used on "Fool Us"?
- 1. Skye responds:This is the classic method. The one used on Fool Us was a custom method that I'm fairly certain cannot be replicated with only the deck of cards on its own.
Brent asks: In retirement I am resuming an old hobby (magic). What is Mnemonica or Mnemonica in order?
- 1. Ian responds:Mnemonica is the name Juan Tamariz gave to his stack. Aronson named his stack The Aronson Stack. Joshua Jay named his The Partial System. And the list goes on… they all represent a pre-set order for the deck which the independent authors have created to facilitate a multitude of tricks while appearing to be completely mixed/random. All require the magi to memorize the order of the deck which takes effort and commitment but there are tools available to aid you in that process.
Harry asks: No...I am asking vanishing inc about what is the purpose of the mnemonic advertising if it is not addressed. My review will come after their answer.
- 1. Ian responds:Harry, the listing and the video both identify that the trick is the same, but the cards are pre-stacked into mnemonic order which is a benefit in that you can now show the deck in an apparent mixed order rather than in new deck order. For those who have already memorized mnemonica they can utilize the stack for tricks they have already been performing and now have yet an additional revelation. I don’t read anything that seems like false advertising. Heck, they even provide you a free product to help you learn the Mnemonica stack. But you will have to put in the work of memorizing the stack order… no magic wand will do it for you, you need to do the work. You can now show the deck face up like it’s a genuinely shuffled deck
- 2. Harry responds:You do not need a mnemonic deck to show the cards mixed up. Vanishing inc could have made a deck in any random order they desired because of how the cards interact with each other. athe only way a mnemonic deck MIGHT be helpful is if you drop the deck; it MIGHT make getting the deck in order easier. Regarding the free booklet...if you already know the order...it is worthless. For people like me...who dont know what to do with it...it might be helpful. However...based on the 8 min instructions there is not one word mentioned about mnemonic decks for newbies like me. I dont even understand how you could use it here since you can only show the faces of the cards and not the backs.
- 3. Aaron responds:The advertising copy above says what the purpose is: "If you’re familiar with Mnemonica, you can also cut right to the named card instead of having to openly search for it in the deck—making the whole trick more fooling than ever" That makes sense to me. And sounds like it opens the deck up for things like Double Agent by Blaise Serra.
- 4. Harry responds:Aaron, I see where Vanishing Inc changed their advertisement because of my complaint. It used to read “Don’t know Mnemonica? No problem. The original handling still works just as well. Both the standard and stack-focused presentations are covered in detail in the included instructional video.” Nice try for trying to make Vanishing Inc good.
Harry asks: I just bought this and a little disappointed. What is the purpose of it being a Mnemonica deck? Nowhere in the instructions give the slightest hint of the possibility of it being a Mnemonica deck. Anyway, disapponted since I thought there would be something new here.
