Escape

“Escape” turns a simple signed card into a miniature escape act.
Here’s what happens:
You show a deck of cards with a hole cleanly punched from top to bottom of the pack. A participant freely selects a card, signs it, and returns it to the deck. The cards are placed back inside the box, and a lock is threaded directly through both the card box and the deck itself, trapping every card in place. You hand the key to a participant, so there is no question that the lock cannot be opened. You cover the locked deck with a cloth. Then, you reach beneath the cloth and slowly pull out the participant’s signed card.
The lock is still fastened through the box and deck.
It’s a simple, easy-to-understand premise with a strong visual ending.
“Escape” gives you a memorable signed-card routine that feels different from the usual card-to-impossible-location plot.
At the end, the signed card can be given to the participant as a souvenir of the impossible escape.
