Watch the trailer to see this amazing effect in full! A named card appears inside a matchbox. Inferno includes the matchbox, cards, and everything you need to perform the effect. It also includes a DVD starring Joshua Jay, in which he teaches every facet of the routine in clear detail. It's a thought-of card in matchbox effect, and you should know the following points:

1. ALL you need for each performance is the matchbox. No cards are palmed in, and you don't have any kind of index. It's totally self-contained inside the matchbox.

2. There is no sleight of hand to speak of. If you follow along with the DVD once, you will be ready to perform the effect. There are a few things to remember, but technically, the effect is quite easy.

3. Everything is examinable at the end. When you're done, the spectator is holding her thought-of card, and the matchbox it came from. And, both props are totally legit.

4. Although the demo shows a close-up performance of Inferno, in fact the effect plays just as well (if not better) in a parlor situation. There are also no angle restrictions whatsoever. Do it surrounded if you like.

Rarely does an effect come about that fits in a shirt pocket and can be done anytime, anywhere. We hope you enjoy Inferno, and we know your audiences will.

A friend did this at our magic club meeting recently and it was great. It's got everything a great trick has, easy to carry, easy to perform, killer outcome.
Will
I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this, and I'm here to say it's my new favorite trick. EXCEPTIONAL, and gets a great reaction.
Matthew
WOW! This looks amazing. It's a rare case of a trick being BETTER even that it's described. Absolutely contained in the matchbox, ends clean, and looks terrific.
Ben
PICK THIS UP! You will love it. I have fallen in love with this trick and do it all the time.
Doug
I bought this at Magic Live in the pre-release, and I am now using it all the time. Easy to use, quality props, GREAT presentation. Another Joshua Jay hit. I love it!
Sam
This is incredible. GENIUS! The presentation justifies the matchbox, and the props are very well made. I was fooled, and now I love it!
Mark
Thank you, Josh, for a stunning and eminently practical effect for walk around and parlor performances. The responses from my corporate audiences are incredible! The routine structure, multiple methods and story lines are elegant, logical and most importantly, fun to do!

This is such a wonderful effect. I absolutely love performing this. I must say, that I was hesitant at first to purchase this trick, but after seeing Josh do it in person and how great it really does look, I had to try it for myself. I am so glad that I did, this trick gets such great reactions. And a great perk, for me, is the fact that it is equally as effective for walk-around as well as stage. I will be using this all the time now. Thanks Josh!
jonathon
An delightful effect any other top card magician need to do, annemann, vernon and ed marlo will like this ! Super for stage and close up !
Greg
I love this so much, I carry it with me whenever I go to the restaurant and I only do it if the audience deserves to see real magic. It is beautiful and simple to understand.

My only wish is that it came with a pack of refills with it. Other than that - what a piece of art! Nicely done yet again Joshua Jay!
Shaun
A instant classic! I never leave home without it!

Inferno is essentially a thought of card in matchbox. This looks really good, and if you don't believe me, watch the trailer. One of the things I love about Vanishing Inc is that their trailers are so candid. No cuts, what you see is what you get! The reason I believe that this effect is better than others of a similar nature, is because everything makes sense. It's difficult to go more in to this without tiptoeing around the method, but trust me, it all makes sense! I have heard of many people who dislike lighting the match and blowing it out. I think, while you can't light the match everywhere, this really strengthens the effect. Inferno takes up very little space(just a matchbox) and can play for a couple people or large groups. Plus, at the end everything can be examined!

Overall, Josh Jay has another winner that is practical, easy, and amazing! Highly recommend!
Steve
Dang, this one is Hot! Seriously ... you can't find a stronger, well-thought out routine like this! When I'm table-hopping, I usual open with this effect it's so strong. You've already getting a number of people at the table involved and it's strong, very strong! If you're really out there working ... you can't go wrong with this one ... Highly Recommended!
Jim
I'm a few years late to this trick, but I saw it on YouTube and thought it was pretty cool. I like the premise of the three questions and that leading to the revelation in the box. I can't wait to get it down and show my friends and family. Also picked up a replacement pack and Out of Sight..going to be a busy summer of learning great magic
Marco
This trick is brilliant - I've been performing it for years, and it never gets old!!
Quenton
Very good trick. Can’t wait to perform it for family and friends.
Quenton
Very nice trick. Easy to do. Ends clean. Worth purchasing.
Robert
The trick is as good as promised. The story is compelling, the handling is easy (with an even easier option available), and you get to involve three spectators directly .

HOWEVER, there are a couple minor issues, not related to the effect. Firstly, you need to give your contact info to another magic shop if you want to see the (excellent) instructions. Secondly, you can watch the instructions from their site but, near as I can tell, there's no way to download them. With this trick it's not such a big deal because one, maybe two, watchings of the indexed video should be all you need. Still, I feel more comfortable knowing I have control over the things I've purchased. And for a bonus issue, you can't make the gimmicks yourself. They should last for many performances and VM has replacements listed. However those replacements are out of stock and absent them over time you be unable to perform this excellent effect.

So, minor grips aside, get it (right now it's 25% off), learn it, and enjoy!
Dale
Love this effect for impact and ease. Joshua Jay produces high-quality content and Inferno is no exception. The construction of the cards makes the routine and the instruction video is nicely done.
Lucas
Got this from the black friday sale and I think this has got to be one of the best tricks that you can buy with $15. The routine is beautiful and Joshua is a great teacher. Highly recommended! PS you should get it even if it's not on sale
Gary
When I saw Josh preform this on his at the table lecture I knew I just had to get it because this is an exceptional trick which is not to difficult with a little practice and it gets amazing reactions every time an Josh points out that you should use the regular cards as this makes the trick vey clean at the end highest recommendation.
Evan
Inferno is a great mental card effect that doesn’t feel like a card effect at all. The effect lives up to its ad copy and is as simple and portable as it looks. The gimmicks that come with the effect are well made, and thankfully the graphic design of the matchboxes provided has improved—although any matchbox can be used.

All this being said, I am taking away 1 star because only one set of gimmicks is provided and because the explanation feels a bit rushed at times. For the price, it would have been nice to see a back-up set provided and a slightly more in-depth explanation.
Evan
This is a really wonderful trick, and even if you are never going to perform it, Josh's thinking on the scripting is probably worth the price of admission. My one quibble, and the reason I didn't give it five stars, is that the matchbox that is supplied doesn't look very natural. It really seems like a magic prop to me. I have managed to replace it with something that looks more organic, but it wasn't easy--this is not the most common matchbox size, and matchboxes aren't as ubiquitous in bars and restaurants as they used to be.
Lewis
I have been hemming and hawing as to whether or not to finally get this stunning effect. It was worth the wait. I work at a cigar lounge and fire themed effects are VERY appropriate there. I did however adapt ANOTHER utility prop (purchased here on Vanishing Inc.) to really make this routine moveless at the crucial point. Kudos to Joshua Jay for this creation.
Mark
This is a wonderful effect.

Everything has been thought out by Joshua and the motivation behind every “move” is perfectly detailed.

I have used this both as explained, and in conjunction with Angelo Carbone’s The Gift and it hits hard every time.

This comes with my highest recommendation and suitable for magicians and mentalists alike.
Yul
This is a great trick. The presentation is very unique for the laypeople; it allows for multiple participation; leaves them very baffled, almost impossibleto reverse engineer the method. Would I repeat it? No, they'd slowly see a pattern. Great thing is it packs very small and very light. Can be a close up effect or parlor. I'd recommend it.
Mark
Very good effect! Add it to any act.I got great reactions from people who saw the effect.
Douglas
Joshua presents this effect with much insight into the handling and presentation. You will learn so much and can use this learning for many other effects you might do. He is thorough and doesn't miss a chance to share his perspective on how magic should be presented. If not for the effect, get this for the instruction on how to be a better magician.
John
Unusual, and very strong effect. a card trick that has no cards until the end, with spectators assuming the box is only there for the matches. Nice props, and the additional cards for the easier version give you options if you're a bit ham-fisted with the intended set. You can carry it around in pretty much anything you're wearing, has a great narrative, and very good value. Thanks for making it available.
Eugene
As usual, Joshua does an awesome job of explaining everything there is to know about performing this effect in the most efficient and natural manner. The method used to arrive at the desired outcome is one of the smoothest I have seen and can't wait to put Inferno to use. All you need is the matchbox, and you are ready to go. This trick can be done using some basic sleight of hand, or no sleight of hand at all, making this, in my opinion, great for novices, advanced beginners or even experienced card people. I plan on carrying this with me everywhere I go!
Martin
Inferno confirms, yet again, the genius of Joshua Jay and Vanishing Inc. The product is as fantastic as its promotional video and incorporates a combination of several diabolical methods. A terrific plot and an absolute fooler, for both "ordinary people" and magicians alike. Packs small and plays stupendously.

I think this is the best trick Vanishing Inc. has ever sold. I've had so much fun with it. I have the spectators hold imaginary matches to "burn" the cards, and that seems to strengthen the effect. Why? Because that way every that happens is imaginary right up to the last minute when the folded card is dumped out of the matchbox. Learn to do this with the presentation it deserves, and you will have a keeper for life.
Enoch
Great reactions! I love preforming this! It takes hardly any time to learn, and is super easy. The card really does look like its burnt! Joshua Jay is a sheer GENIUSE!!
Mike
I like Josh’s stuff. I don’t know how much I’ll perform this but the gimmicks are super cool and is reasonably priced.
Aidan
Man this is incredible. This was totally deserving of trick of the year. It's self contained and completely examinable. One of the things I love most about Inferno is that it doesn't have to be in a matchbox. The card can end up wherever you'd like. An idea I like is using the paperclip clip it to a portion of your wallet. Think about how great this is to an audience. To them there is a single card named and a single card in play, the perfect effect. Yes, there are other possibly cleaner methods of achieving this effect but Inferno is self contained and examinable, which to me makes it all worth it.
Gary
Very good explanation and the moves are not hard but they do need a good deal of practice. I can see why it's a good idea to get extra refill packs. It would be nice if the cards would match the other decks I use but understand why they are what they are. It is a great card effect and I am excited to start performing it!
Ronald
This is brilliant! I love everything about this.
AJ
Excellent! Previously I have been doing a 52-1 routine using an index. This method and gimmick has really brought that trick up a notch without the index. I also love how in this version you can end clean and the card is examinable, something with my other routine that wasn’t possible. Bravo Joshua Jay, this is awesome. Cheers
David
An imaginative and mind blowing "Pick a Card" effect, where only a single card is used. But to call this a PAC trick doesn't begin to do it justice. Combining several methods, Joshua has created a well crafted and stunning routine that will leave your audience floored. Very well thought out with a great instructional video.
Nicholas
My first trick from Vanishing Inc, got it a long time ago. Great effect and easy to do!
Wes
Inferno is awesome! I'm new to magic, and I'm not really good. Preformed Inferno for some friends and pulled it of almost perfect. Easy fun trick, and a big reaction. Get this trick.
Edward
Great audience reaction with minimal sleight needed. Its mostly in the wording so once you've practiced your presentation, you will leave them gasping. It's a must have in your arsenal.
Alexandru-Traian
Wow, first of alI, i can say that I really apreciate the effort Joshua Jay did put in making this presentation and that he took hes time not just to present every little technical thing into detail so it can be understabable and easy for everyone to perform, but also talks about how he got to this ideas, trying to show the potential of this effect to its real capacity, also at some point lets a door open so anyone can see how it can this effect can be adapted and be used to annyone's verry own good. This kit its a strong, beautiful yet verry simple to handle instrument which is really fun to learn how to play with it, and of course not in the last place how to share the magic of it with others by performing with it. One of the other cool features about this trick it is that it can fit in your pocket, or if you adapted to an own routine even in your purse or maybe some other places...who knows...you can just simply let your imagination go wild and make it your own, it is perfect for a every day carry, partys, some close up magic maybe, to simply perform for friends or family... and for me, will definetly go in to my wallet, that is for sure!
Robert
Way to Go Josh ! This one of the 1st I purchased and so happy I did. Not only great on its own but have combined it with a few other routines and it just makes it so much better .
Kane
This has to be an everyday carry; even though it has been out in the market for a while, it stands the test of time. The equivoke is really clever and I can really rely on it to work. There are two methods but I think the more “difficult” method is better because you end clean. Bravo as always Joshua jay! And card shark with the genius gimmick
John
Have done something like this for years and would not ever do it this way but seeing that you have packaged this so great and left no stones unturned, Its great and I know it will always be right on. Plus it's shorter.
Charles
Very clever. I like it a lot, especially the way the equivoque is constructed.
Vince
This is a top-notch effect. The instructions are very well done and it is not hard to do. It is astonishing to your spectators. The teaching of the effect is perfect. Once you watch those instructions you will be able to perform this. It is great for parlour as long as you are careful with the match. Highly recommended. A+++++++++++
Kevin
If you are relaxed with your patter, this trick will blow people away. Its fun, your spectators are engulfed in the presentation. And the ending requires a little dexterity but nothing most people can't handle. Perfect for table hopping.
Franz
Great trick! Really good ideas and combination of methods! Thanks Joshua! You are really a genius!!! Even if I'm pretty new to magic, I think I'm going to try the version with sleights of hands and this for two reasons. I want to learn and the movements seem quite easy to perform...
Jeff
My go to!
