Yes, it is a full performance from the beginning till the end of the trick. I understand why you ask but it described in tutorial.

Do i have to make a gimmick card

No, it is hard to call it gimmick card. It requires a gimmick but very simple without any diy process.

Can I have someone name a card and another person cut the deck under the table, etc. Also - could they do this behind their back versus under a table?

Yes, you can freely perform it with 2 spectators and yes, it can be done behind the back versus the table.

Can the trick be performed for the same person or is it a one card reveal?

Like any other trick, it’s usually best performed only once. However, since the card is freely named, you can perform it multiple times if you wish. P.S. I’ve even fooled magicians by performing it three times in a row :)

Does the gimmick work for any standard poker deck?

Absolutely yes. Any deck, even a non poker one.

Does the magician do something as he "demonstrates what under the table" means; can the trick be done without cover?

No deck set up.. you could even shuffle the deck in front of the spectator… the do your routine.

There are multiple ways that you can use for this method. From the simplest one without any difficult moves and some more complicated for a cleaner presentation. You choose wich one suits you the best.

Mirror Fate is a devastatingly fooling card routine where everything happens in their hands.

The premise was almost too simple: They name any card. They take the deck under the table or behind their back. Without looking, they reverse one card, cut the deck, and bring it back out. When the cards are spread, only one card is reversed: Their named selection.

Brilliant! Easily my New Favorite card effect.. Wonderful method, easy to do.. essentially sets up as you perform it. Checks all the boxes! Really happens as the spectators handles the deck. Thank you for this added fun!

This is not a new idea by any stretch. Eric Ross had a commercial effect using the concept 20 years ago and the idea has been used presumably before that and after. The problem I have with this type is method is that the way in which a spectator holds cards is extremely unreliable particularly when you combine that with the deck going out of view under the tables or behind the back. If the spectator feels the gimmick, which is entirely possible, the effect is over before it begins. I also made the mistake of conflating the 2 different versions in the description. The borrowed deck version will look much different than the demo and tbh so will the prepared deck version. Subscribers to Christian Grace Magic monthly should recognize a way in which to do this effect without the use of any gimmick, the trade off being that the magician would have to spread the cards for the reveal.

Nothing really groundbreaking, way to expensive for what it is. Pretty disappointing, but good explanation and it is a good trick, just should have been 10-15.

- 2. Paul responds:It's a bit misleading. In the video above, he got very lucky. Most of the time, there will be one more step involved.
- 3. Paul responds:Alan’s answer is correct and needs to be considered. There is a step that “has to be done” before you get to where the performance starts in the performance. The step is relatively easy to perform, but it isn’t going to be performed “exactly” like the performance video.

- 2. Alan responds:You can make the whole trick behind the spectators back as well but table helps you to make a final display and spread the cards but you can reveal it by spreading a fan in your hands in a standing situation.
