Moser's Miracle Monte

An astounding routine with an impossible ending that leaves them with a magical souvenir.
“Moser’s Miracle Monte” by Wolfgang Moser is everything you’d want in a card trick. It’s deceptive, shocking, entertaining, and completely angle-proof. And better still, you end with an intriguing and examinable souvenir they’ll cherish forever.

If you’ve ever been interested in the Three Card Monte plot, you won’t find a better option than this. Building on the work of Theodore DeLand, Michael Skinner, Eddie Taytelbaum, and Harry Anderson, “Moser's Miracle Monte” is an astonishing sequence that feels like real magic.
Unlike some other Monte routines, “Moser’s Miracle Monte” does not rely on speed, confusion, or difficult sleight of hand. It is instead a masterclass in thoughtful, intelligent construction that moves along at a steady, methodical pace.
Everyone around you is invited to really lock in and try their best to follow the Ace of Hearts. Yet, despite your efforts to continually increase the odds in their favor, they never can.
The final phase is what truly solidifies “Moser’s Miracle Monte” as a closer-quality effect. To help make things as easy as possible for your audience, you rip off a corner of the “money” card. Yet, somehow, they still can’t follow it.
For years, many magicians considered Michael Skinner’s “Ultimate Three Card Monte” / “Skinner Monte” to be the pinnacle of the plot. “Moser’s Miracle Monte” combines the best elements of that beloved routine with a fun torn corner idea from Harry Anderson. Even better, you now also end completely clean.
Everything is made possible by a deviously simple gimmick that handles most of the hard work. No difficult sleight of hand is required to perform this practical, easy-to-do routine.
“Moser’s Miracle Monte” works well on its own and is also powerful enough to close your set (our cofounders Andi Gladwin and Joshua Jay know from experience). Each set comes with 20 gimmicks, and a detailed instructional video that teaches you everything you need to start performing right away.

The DVD instructions are spare but more than sufficient. Took me about an hour to learn the handling. Take some time to write your own script and this will be a KILLER closer for you. I am doing it everywhere - impromptu, at strolling gigs, bar gigs, etc.
It's especially good as an "extra" goody to do for the client after the gig when they give you the check. Even better - do it for the client and their boss!'
My only quibble is that the refills come in pack of 20 but are 10 red and 10 blue backs - wish I could order them in one color.
The last phase where you are doing the 3 card monte with a torn card facedown is pretty hilarious and baffling when you finally turn it over.
The reason it loses one star is because it uses the Mandolin back rather than the more ubiquitous Rider back.
The trick comes with lots of the gaff cards that you will tear each time you perform this, in both red and blue backs. But it does NOT include the normal 3C and AH which you will have to supply yourself.
This is a real shame, because I have LOTS of Rider decks, but no Mandolin decks.
And while VI sells BLUE Mandolin decks, NO ONE currently sells RED Mandolin decks.
The best I could do was to buy a "Short" red Mandolin deck, which VI also sells.

I was a little disappointed that the outer packaging actually showed the face of the card thus giving away the secret. I know one wouldn't show the audience the packaging, it was just my personal feeling that the secret shouldn't be shown on the packaging.
Anyway, I can't wait to try this trick out on an audience.
Note that the 2025 re-release of this product is Red Bicycle cards, not a mix of red and blue mandolins, as the original. That's simpler, and therefore may be better for most performers.
This is a trick that uses up one card per performance, so refills are recommended, and are available for purchase at Vanishing Inc at the moment (twenty performances for ten dollars).
The video instructions are consice, professional, and enjoyable.
The product would get 5 Stars if it came complete with the necessary ordinary cards. Since most Vanishing Inc customers have many such cards to spare, most should consider this a 5 Star review that simply highlights one shortcoming.
Anyway, it's a solid version. You obviously can figure out the gaff involved, and so it's pretty easy to see what's going on from the full demo. If you like the routine, get it!
