That said; given how simple this gaff is - and for those that know the secret (and already do a Mercury fold), it's a gaff that can be made at home very quickly - so my question is- is there a download only version? Happy to pay for the skill and original concept, but I already have plenty of the necessary gaffs!

I use a protective plastic case over all my card boxes. The card box slides into the case and the card box is used while in the plastic case. Will the gimmick work with this setup? Thx

That's fine because the gimmick lives inside the actual card box.

Is it possible to use a different fold--the kind that appears in one of Eugene Burger's books (a "triple" fold, I guess we can call it)? Or is the MCF required?

If you are really skilled in card gaffing, then it’s possible but I wouldn’t recommend taking apart the gimmick to do so.

What is the skill level of using this, can it be used by a beginner / intermediate? What slights are there to know? (guessing MCF is one of them).

This is intermediate. There is a MCF involved including any moves in the main routine but also the handling of the gimmick itself.

A few questions: 1. It says it fits into your card box. Does this require any arts and crafts to your original box? 2. It says it’s a durable gimmick. What does this mean exactly? Cardboard? Plastic? 3. Is the entire routine shown in the full performance taught in full? Thanks!

It requires very little arts & crafts, will be good to go in around 2 minutes, the entire routine is taught on the tutorial, the gimmick is made from a number of different materials

This gimmick is perfect for performing crazy productions within the deck box. The Card-to-box routine is taken to another level with this wonderful idea. It's simple to set up and super easy to take to the stage. You only need a few minutes of the explanatory video to understand how it works and put it into practice. However, I've been doing card under glass/bottle for years and have also used James Brown's Card in Box as well. But using the best from each is now a miracle made in heaven! For someone who has been performing the Ambitious Card Routine for decades, I do not say this lightly: the Mystery Card Box is my favorite ACR ending I have ever used. Over the years, I have performed countless impossible location finales, but this one checks every box for me. It is extremely practical in terms of pocket space, the handling is natural and easy to learn, and the reactions are consistently insane. One thing I was initially curious about was whether the entire deck would realistically fit back into the box with the gimmick in place — and it absolutely does. That detail alone shows how well thought out the design is. In fact, you do not even need to perform the effect during strolling if you do not want to. The box can simply sit there naturally until the perfect moment presents itself. The design is incredibly convincing to spectators and feels completely impossible in performance. I have purchased many of Henry Harrius’ cube products over the years, and his products are always high quality. This Mystery Card Box is no exception. It is also great that Vanishing Inc. carries this product. Living in the United States, ordering directly from Henry Harrius Official Site can become expensive with international shipping.
