Two effects from Chris Ramsay's working repertoire.  An interactive routine which guarantees to surprise your audience.

RED PILL:

Two decks are presented to two spectators. One open pack of blue cards and one sealed deck of red ones. The sealed deck is placed within one of the spectators hands, the other spectator selects a card from the open pack, moments later the selected card has now vanished from the open pack and impossibly appears inside the cellophane of the sealed deck!

SECRET:

Imagine showing a spectator a sealed deck of cards, placing it between their hands and having them think of a playing card. Now imagine that the card they just thought of is now impossibly trapped and sealed inside the cellophane which has never left their hands! The best part is, everything is fully examinable and they can decide to tear it open to find out how it was done, or keep it sealed as an impossible souvenir!

The DVD is a complete lesson in everything from the forcing techniques; the sleights (taught with a split-screen, simultaneous right/left camera angle); how to gaff your card box and more. Because the trick is very procedural, I would have loved to see at least one example of it play out with the spectators he filmed in the compelling trailer that is used to promote “Red Pill.”

I recommend this for those of you looking for a special trick in which you don’t mind spending 10 to 15 minutes prepping before each performance and that you can use as a closer for a parlor or close-up show, or to have in reserve for that oh-so-very-special situation when you want to make a lasting impression.

I've preformed this trick a couple of times now and I love it. Weeks later and my co workers are still talking about it! I'm a huge fan of Chris Ramsey he's a super cool magician and I've been following him on YouTube for a while so when I found this trick I had to get it! Really blew my girlfriends mind when I had her card inside the plastic and when she opened the sealed deck there was a ring I got for her.

This is a great trick. the gimmick is well made and spectators will be blown away. Highly recommended and I use it a lot.

Excellent explanation and powerful concept. Can't wait to use it. Personally, I do think that it's a little challenging to prep this manually like he shows in the dvd versus using something like The Charlatan System or equivalent. I went through several decks manually and just wasn't happy with my result. It has to be spot on. It's a bit knacky and If it's not perfect, you really do run the risk of ruining the magic moment entirely. Spectators will absolutely want to inspect the deck (i.e. you are giving it to them unless you're doing the version where they open it right away). Like anything, I'm sure the more you do it, the easier it gets but you do have to take your time on all steps. The final impact on the spectator is totally worth it, though! So many possibilities with this.
