Javier Natera presents his Penn & Teller: Fool Us routine, "Synchronous". This is a breathtaking, straightforward Sympathetic Card routine that is incredibly impossible, but easy enough for anyone to be able to do.

Two people. One deck. A perfect connection.

The deck is split in two, with the performer and the participant each taking half. Both the magician and participant place their packets under the table, freely selecting a card before placing it face-up in the center of their packet. When they place their packet on the table and spread, the two face-up cards match!

The magician invites the spectator to try it again, but this time, the magician leaves their packet on the table while the participant repeats the process. Despite never touching the cards, when the packets are spread, the cards match!

"Synchronous" comes with everything you'll need to perform this powerful routine.** Note: **You will need to use your own deck.

Customer reviews for Synchronous

Richard
Nice. I like this. This is an incremental step forward in method (using a principle I've most recently seen exploited by Benjamin Earl) to create a real leap forward in effect. As advertised, this effect is easy to do, will fool most magicians, and will slay laypeople, including my savvy wife. One of the reasons I love magic is that there's really nothig new under the sun. There are simply new applications or new combinings of old principles to create new effects. This is a great example of that. Simple, elegant, subtle, effective!

This will fit nicely into my close-up routine however, just be aware that when it says it comes with everything that you need to perform this trick, it does not. I do not use red maiden back bicycle cards, and had I known that this is how it comes I would have ordered a pack along with the gimmick so now I have to go and spend money plus packaging for a single deck of red card because I was under the assumption, this comes with everything you need to perform. So just make sure you have a pair of red back bicycles when you purchase.

A prime example of how utter simplicity in method can have a massive payoff in performance. Synchronous feels like its secret may be easy to trace for audience members, but it's pretty bulletproof and fooling. My first time performing it got such a strong reaction that I can't wait to use this on a more regular basis. It's just as adaptable to casual settings as it is to more formal performance. For $15, it's a no-brainer.

Not only is this a great effect but the teaching is just outstanding. You are shown two ways of performing, one with the special card and one without. You are supplied with several of the special somethings so you can repeat with different outcomes. There are two simple moves that need to be made but they are simple. For $15 you get a great effect. Highly recommended A+++++++++++++
