TURN is just one of those tricks you have to see. So, stop what you're doing and watch the quick trailer--it's less than a minute long.
In short, this trick with four cards is an ADVENTURE. Cards change from blue to red to multicolored, and the faces change from blank to Queens to Jokers. But it's the smooth-as-silk handling that sets this packet trick apart. Dare we say, it might be the most efficient, amazing packet trick we've ever seen. It is certainly our VERY favorite Peter Pellikaan creation to date. Usually in tricks of this kind, there are necessary adjustments. You have to change the count you do, or move a card from top to bottom, or do a secret reversal, or take a card out, or add one in. GONE! In TURN, the handling looks identical in each phase, and one phase flows seamlessly into the next.
You receive a set of specially gimmicked cards and an easy-to-follow video tutorial.
Customer reviews for Turn by Peter Pellikaan
The instructional video is great and covers everything, including the very quick reset.
Dope stuff.
By the time you practice TURN enough to show it, the roughing is worn off. It never was effective or reliable for me.
However, when I used the Roughing Stick generously, the climax of fanning the four colors works every time, flawlessly!
They should be sold together as one.
Bought I bought this one and it's probably my favorite!
For me this a "WTF" on steroids. The only thing is that you can't throw the final reveal on the table, like you can with "WTF".
One thing that is missing in the instructions is a clear explanation on how to do a reset. It took me multiple viewings and screen captures to get it down. It would have been nice to include a PDF to show the setup. I ended up taking pictures and make my own PDF.
All in all this is a great effect and I'm glad I got it during the Black Friday sale.

Overall it is a good packet trick to carry around. there is a lot of changes in a small time with easily master moves. Good impact in a small package.

Reset is honestly super simple, it is recommended that you go to the toilet after the effect to reset in secret, but it is so easy, you could almost do the reset right there in the open.
The cards come in their own little Vanishing Inc carry case too so they should be nice and protected when carrying them around in your pocket before and after the performance. Very impressed, I will definitely be performing this effect every chance I get!!
Only one sleight is used for the entire routine. I can’t say the sleight is entirely simple to practice, but I can say that most magicians will catch on quickly. The only issue I have is minor flashes that shouldn’t be a difficult problem with practice. I believe this effect can be done fully surrounded by spectators.
Turn may end up being your favorite packet trick.

I think the instructional video is particularly poor. There is far too much assumption.
The move should be better explained.
The order of cards is very unclear - if you make one mistake you’re completely at sea.
If you go to the very end of the video, you can work out how to re-order the cards, but for me, this step should be explained right at the beginning.
So all in all, great trick let down by poorly constructed gimmicks and badly edited video.
Very clear instructions, and the best part?
SUPER easy!

Michael asks: Because the roughing stick has to be reapplied every time.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:It does not
Michael asks: Could you use roughing spray instead of the stick if it is applied in the same way.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:You can
Mike asks: Great packet trick - I would like to get some cards to make another few packs. Do you guys sell the individual cards? I searched under gaffe cards but could not find. Many thanks Mike
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Hi Mike! We don't sell the individual cards, but they are very easy to find similar ones to make your own packets.
Enoch asks: Does this trick require you to include your OWN cards, or does it come with them? Thanks.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:You receive the cards.
Steve asks: I purchased through Penguin Magic, but when I accessed the instructions, it brought me to your site. The cards I got from Penguin, were NOT prepared with the special extra something. Were they supposed to be? I notice on one of your answers is that the cards are ready to use right out of the gate.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Please contact magic@vanishingincmagic.com for this type of question.
Daniel asks: Is it possible to get any un-gimmicked phoenix playing cards so that I could potentially do a clean-up after revealing the final: red, blue, green and yellow backed cards?
- 1. Sgkyduyen responds:I'm afraid the ungimmick card set is not available
- 2. Sgkyduyen responds:I'm afraid the ungimmick card set is not available
Lee asks: I often wonder why folks ask "Do I have to learn how to do an Elmsley count or some other sleight?" with card tricks. If the answer is yes, step up out of your comfort zone a bit and learn a few moves. Many seem to only want "self working" tricks that take no practice (although self working tricks need practice, too). I'm certainly no master card manipulator, but I have learned a few of the basics which opened a whole new world for me in being to perform something that actually takes a little skill.
- 1. Jim responds:You probably meant to put the above into the review section.
Chuck asks: Are the cards standard weight and poker sized or are they DD weight and bridge sized?
- 1. Jim responds:Standard and poker-sized.
Neal asks: Not a question, but a lot of these comments don’t seem to understand how beautiful this effect really is. So what if there a kind of count that occurs a couple or three times or more? It’s a beauty that would be worth learning a new count to be able to perform. ( getting off my soapbox now.)
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Glad you like it!
Andrew asks: Could I keep this in my wallet? Or would the ware and tear compromise the method?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yup. So long as it's not so tight that the cards warp.
