Oh man.. I wasn’t sure about this when I got the email because I wasn’t to familiar with John Bannon and I don’t really do mentalist stuff. I just got paid and decided to just grab it, I grab just about every book that’s predominantly card magic these days . I got it yesterday and I LOVE IT, I can’t put it down the stuff in here is so clever. It’s going to take me down a whole new wormhole of material .I grabbed one of his downloads the same night..lol. I just wish some of his other books were still available. I’m so excited about this book I plan to thoroughly pick it clean. I SEE YOU JOHN BANNON!! I got my copy in 3 days too! This is probably my favourite book purchase from vanishing inc( and I've bought a good few)The tricks taught are so clever with little to no card sleights. This is a must have for anyone interested in card magic and/or mentalism!

Gold material with an incredibly high pain to glory ratio. Bannon has done it again. Nice treatment of instructional images. I had some gripes about Queen Spirit but this book is one I will treasure forever. He’s truly a great thinker when it comes to card magic, and as always an enjoyable read.

Bannon did it again. I’m not even half way through the book, but I’m fully on board. Already worth the price. Somehow Bannon manages to take principles and methods we’ve all known about for years and turn them into pure simplistic astonishment that feels new.

Not only does John Bannon know how to squeeze a ton of effect out of minimal method, but he's so good at explaining it clearly. I'm excited to start performing these routines out in the real world. As described, these are easy to do with little to no sleight of hand or difficult math work. Really loving this book and I'm only halfway into it. Can't wait to see what awaits in the second half. Highly recommended!

The presentation value alone is worth the cost, there are at least three effects that I will be doing and I only started reading this a week ago.

There are some really amazing routines in this book that are easy to do but still make a big impression. Very little slight of hand required.

There are some typos and some editing problems, and a couple of the explanations were confusing for me to work through, but overall it's a really entertaining and enlightening book. I learned a lot from it.

This book has a lot of magic in it and some really great self-workers. Just note that there are some tricks that are not well explained as they are based on older concepts e.g. Liars el Fresca is based on the Sunday picnic trick from Royal Road as well as covered in Scarne on Tricks. I had to consult these books to figure out how to actually do the trick. Also Bannon's book does not explain what to actually do with the selected card, but it all became clear when referencing the older books. That said there are some really clever ideas in here and I recommend the book wholeheartedly.

I'm a big Bannon fan. His philosophy of card magic is to keep refining methods and making them more subtle. This collection of effects is quintessential Bannon. In addition to the effects you get several Bannon "moves" which I am sure to start using in other effects, I also like Bannon's insights on patter and what *not* to say when directing spectators to preform certain actions.

John's explanations and entertaining prose is ... well, fun to read!

If you're a Bannon fan, this is a must buy. If you haven't purchased any Bannon books (is there anyone?) then get this one!

This is a beefy book from Bannon, much bigger than I was expecting. There’s a lot of content in here and a good portion in the first chapter on magic squares. It’s always a pleasure to read John’s work. Good quality book production with lots of clear photographs which we all love.
There’s something for everyone here.

I love Bannon's work and his methodology is always so engaging and descriptive. I have a number of his books which I love, and this one is no exception. Well-written, detailed explanations, nice patter and of course, Bannon's incredible creativity for magic. These tricks, while not difficult, and which have a mentalism angle, are nonetheless completely fooling. As others may have mentioned, not needing to rely always on difficult slights or moves, means you are free to explore interesting delivery patter and presentation. Bannon has a number of subtleties that will be familiar to fans, but they are extremely effectively applied for these effects. Loving this book!
