A revolutionary new way to produce a full glass of liquid in a totally impossible way. This innovative method allows your audience to both see and hear the moment an object appears out of thin air.
With a variety of all-time best sellers under his belt like “Glance”, “Flite” and Video Chat Magic, Steve Thompson is one of the most innovative and respected creators in the industry. But “Appearing Glass” may be the closest he’s ever come to “real” magic.
A Brand-New Method
You’ve seen the basic idea before, but never in a way as fair and incredible as “Appearing Glass”. This is the key to finally taking that extra step from “amazing” into the realm of “truly impossible.”
Other marketed effects follow a similar pattern: you remove a bag from your pocket, unfold it and produce a glass of liquid. Many of them even allow you to show the bag is completely empty first. However, before you can make the production happen, a fishy move needs to occur for the glass to somehow get pre-loaded in the bag.
This typically requires you to either ruin the flow of the routine by creating an offbeat at a critical juncture or find a seemingly viable excuse to justify your actions—which, unfortunately, can sometimes transform into a giant arrow pointing directly at the method when the audience recaps the effect.
“Appearing Glass” by Steve Thompson solves this problem.
You can show the bag empty and even have a participant place their hand inside to verify nothing is there. Then, instantly, without ever putting your hand inside the bag, you make a glass appear with a visible and audible thud. They can immediately reach in and take it out themselves.
Don’t want to produce a glass? You can also use the bag to produce phones, cubes, decks of cards, or any other similar object.
This modern take on a popular effect is visual, fast, safe, and simple. The premium props are a joy to use and make “Appearing Glass” practical enough for every performing situation from stage to close-up.
The Perfect Gimmick
The centerpiece of “Appearing Glass” is the custom-made, wildly-clever gimmicked bag that is about as close to perfect as possible. You won’t be able to stop yourself from smiling when you see how clever it is.
The best part is that it’s been designed to be easily operated with one hand. This greatly simplifies the handling while simultaneously amplifying the fairness. Let them examine it and then instantly make the glass appear like real magic.
Constructed from durable Tyvek™, this bag is built to last countless performances. It’s resistant to tears and water, making it especially useful when making a tall glass of liquid seemingly drop out of thin air.
The Perfect Glass
Careful consideration was also given to the custom-made, high-gloss glass. It looks just like a real glass, but is constructed of durable acrylic that is not only light and easy to steal, but won’t break if you drop it. The custom-designed lid keeps the liquids from spilling until you’re ready. It can then be quickly, quietly and discreetly removed with one hand right before you load the glass into the gimmick.
The Perfect Steal
Ok, so this part is technically not new. But, the way Steve pairs a slight modification on a classic holdout with a totally justified and simple steal is unrivaled. Every movement is motivated perfectly to make it completely invisible. With a little practice, you’ll be fooling yourself in the mirror. All you need is a belt and some type of coat, hoodie, cardigan or similar.
Oh, and once you’re loaded, the glass is ready to appear instantly whenever you’d like. And you don’t have to rush anything. In the loaded position, you have 220-degree working angles that enable you to confidently show the bag empty one more time immediately before the appearance. This is a true game-changer.
From the Stage to the Table
While “Appearing Glass” is clearly a showstopper for any stage magic or parlor magic show, it was also designed with close-up magic workers in mind. Very generous angles and a quick reset time make it great for walkaround magic and street magic.
Don’t want to use it as an opener? The custom-made props allow you to safely perform this amazing effect at any point in your set.
“Appearing Glass” by Steve Thompson is perfect for any magician that wants a surefire way to truly astonish every audience. You’ll perform it for a lifetime, and the premium props will last just as long.

The props are very well manufactured and should last a very long time. The explanation video was just ok though. There is a part where he talks about a 'crease', and that's all he says.
I would have like more of a close up explanation. I almost feel that the video was rushed a touch for no good reason.
But, it works. It's practical. And it's a fooler.

I've gotten to use this and it's a great effect.
Everything is clean from start to finish. You have really good angles throughout the entire effect.
I love that the bag is tyvek and is washable.
This will not let you down. Even the glass is perfect!!
I would say negatively, that my bag does not click like it is suppose to, and does sometimes get caught when opening, but this trick is too good to lose a star!
You can probably be surrounded about 130 degrees in front of you, if you carefully follow the video's finger tips.
There is this this real cool packaging, which is just a VI bonus like usual.
Many people don't wear jackets to perform. A future short video with some ideas for them might be a great thing to do down the road.
I found the intructions to be short and to the point. That's a good thing.

This looks like a digital trick but it isn't. You can make a real glass full of liquid to appear.
You pull out a folded bag out of your jacket, open it up and show the audience it is completely empty. Then have someone prepare an imaginary glass and pour liquid in the glass. They toss it into the bag and the audience sees (and hears) you catch it in the bag and have them pull out a full glass of liquid. Simply amazing! I'm planning on using this for an opening act. I think it will slay the audience and put them on a roller coaster journey of wonder and amazement. This is easy to do and from the video appears well made. I will have fun with this one!
I pasted on the Starbucks bag iconic goddess design on the front and also pasted a piece of the Starb's bag-back on the reverse.
The remaining work: how to pull at least THREE items out -- one at time,
Love it
Try it you will like it
You get what you see and it is awesome.
The glass alone is a win for me plus the special extra to "store" it (you not have to use it) - and the rest is pretty well made.
I am happy to let my eyes guide me into buying this. Highly recommended if you looking for a effect like this. AND you can also priduce other objects instead of the glass with liquid in it - like a rubic cube.
Amazing!
The new bag had one bit of glue holding the fold at the top of the bag. Maybe a 48th inch. I pulled it open just fine. Clearly individually made. as there was the slightest difference in feel. yet I feel the replacement bag will last some time.
It's going into my Stand-up open mic set that will get 12-20 performances a month. I expect to be putting mileage on this. At first I thought, Can I pull this off? The more I rehearse it, the more confident I feel.
My best $$ investment this year.

I'm using this for an opening trick and will quickly prove that magic is real. The bag can be used over and over and is durable. The gimmick is clever and difficult to see, even close up. I can see why it sold out! Get one today and don't miss it!
Before I bought it I scrutinized the video several times to detect the steal of the glass. I saw nothing - and hoped it was worth the risk of buying the trick.
Folks, there is no risk! Everyone can do this if you carefully pay attention to the details. How devilishly simple.
I sat applauding at the end of the explanation, and that includes the bag.

I went to this bonus section right away and thought I knew how it’s gonna work. To my surprise, the extra “tips” make this more doable and convenient! They really know their market of cube magicians. Although it’s a simple thing, I appreciate the misdirection that flows with the cube production. I am even considering making it look like the paper bags from our local bookstore which sells rubik’s cubes too. Overall, we’re really buying the prop. I’m glad I bought this during black Friday and I’m hoping to make the most out of it.
There could have been more instructions regarding the choreography in the demo.
It's often difficult to find a good bag that isn't going to get ruined and the nice material of this one seems like it will last for years.
Great job Steve!
Can make other items like phones , watches ECT appear too.
I experimented and preferred to steal the item from my jeans’ front pocket rather than what was suggested in the instructional video. It’s so much easier!
I’m not sure what the controversy was all about regarding this effect being difficult for heavier set performers to do. I’m a stocky guy and had no difficulty doing this while wearing a blazer.
Another plus when you purchase this… the bonus routine on how to make Rubik’s cube appear out of thin air!

Well, of course this method is the method you should have expected.
BUT. But, this thing is really well made. I like the *thinking* behind how this was made -not just the quality of the construction. The idea is relatively simple but highly effective. Production effects can pack a punch, and I think this one will pack a punch for me.
I'll want to practice this one. That doesn't mean it is difficult -it isn't. Doing it well could be a rep maker, IMHO. Doing it poorly would be the opposite. I recommend practice not for the difficulty, but to reap the reward that this performance could bring if done well.
I only gave 4 stars because it is brand new to me and I have not performed it yet. I've already thought of 4 or 5 routines of my own using this. (? with an invisible deck, maybe?). I like it. I may come back and add to this review some time in the future.
Happy customer here.
This is an amazing effect, and the quality of the props is fantastic. The teaching is well done, filmed in high quality and easy to learn from.
If you want to produce a glass of liquid, this is the way to go!
