Joshua's handling of this effect went straight into my working repertoire after seeing him perform this at Blackpool 2009. After a few weeks practice this effect has become one of my favourites combing both the elegance of magic with a strong visual aspect this effect leaves the audience overwhelmed. Beautiful magic.

Bought this elsewhere years ago but noticed they were selling it here and thought I would add an over the top review. Basically the add copy is entirely true. Not too many tricks you can say that about. I consider it one of the finest "coin" tricks ever and not terribly difficult with variations available for different skill levels. Really, really good.

Quite simply a 'go to' trick. This combines all the elements of a good close up trick in that the spectator gets to handle the items used, participates in the trick itself, it resets instantly and it can be done standing and surrounded! what more can you ask?

I purchased an original set of coins from Josh years ago and it is one of my favorite routines to perform. I had to get an updated set after seeing Josh perform them during a performance of Six Impossible Things, they were so much more visible then the originals and everyone in the room could see them. These coins are a great size, a great weight, and most of all they look fantastic. You will not be disappointed in any way by ordering this effect.

This is one of my top two coin tricks,This all comes in a good quality, and a good designed presentation box, The chinese coins are dollar size, which is personally my preferred size.TThis Comes With An Excellent Quality, Highly Polished Set Off Black and Gold Coins, which consists off a gold coloured edges, with gold symbols on the coins, the rest of the coins are black, and this contrast with the red ribbon gives this a very classy look. The video is very well presented, with a great video production, with good camera angles, with a great teacher, starts with a full demonstration, followed with a breakdown on how to, followed with severall variations at the end of the video.This is a very classy trick, It looks great, and it feels great when doing this trick, Especially with the high class quality coins, As these Coins alone makes it feel magical. Would off been good if the coins came with a storage pouch, but other than that, i highly recommend these amazing quality chinese coins, which comes with a great tutorial.

Coins are of good quality , meaning that paint will not wear off if you drop them or rub them together. In my opinion Troy does go a little fast on the explanation and even though I been doing coin magic for 21 years I found myself rewinding a couple of times to follow the steps of the routine.
The moves are not hard at all , basic moves you already know from basic coin handling, no Asian lvl coin moves here and once you know Troy’s routine you’ll find that is actually very modular and you can incorporate your own favorite moves to it and make it your own after you learn how the basic routine works.
In my opinion,it is 100% worth the price, and if you love coin magic you will enjoy performing and practicing this little piece.

I love this routine, but the teaching felt subpar. No over the shoulder/practice full performances. Would be nice to see these extra touches to help clarify. A few times I'd get confused on which hand did what due to mirroring him.

I thought it was beautiful, but didn't end up buying the coins, so I forgot how to do it. A few months ago though, I finally got it. Now I barely leave my house without it. One of the most powerful, elegant 3 phase coin routines you can do, that doesn't feel like any other coin routine in your repertoire. CCC is a series of 3 increasingly impressive penetrations of a coin off a string, although very simple and direct do not underestimate its power. The routine looks as good in the trailer as it does in real life and its just as practical, the coins you get are of good quality so this can be a routine you keep in your repertoire for years to come.

I almost don’t want to write this because I want there to be fewer people doing it. It’s beautiful, I don’t know what else to say. You should have this trick and you should do this trick.

The act is fantastic, the logic and reason behind each move is very smooth and well thought out. The biggest issue is the insane amount of cultural appropriation. Either get yourself a real set of these coins(like you would for a Morgan silver dollar trick) or buy some washers. Magicians need to stop with this ignorant "ancient chinese" objects magic.

This is a great routine. I tend to have small hands and the dollar size coins are too big for me. If this is you, you might want to also buy 1/2 dollar size Chinese coins. If you do, the trick is worth the cost of his plus the cost of smaller coins. They could have sold if for more and it would still be worth every penny.

Hard hitting. That’s what this trick is. I like magic that is direct and stunning. This is mind bending yet so simple to execute, any magician with intermediate skill level will be able to pick up the handling right away. I wouldn’t say it’s a beginner trick though, it has some sleight of hand work and it does require some audience management skills, but it is so worth the effort to learn it. This is one of my EDC tricks, it’s too good NOT to carry and show.

You receive dollar-size Chinese coins and the perfect ribbon to perform this Troy Hooser classic. Troy's laid-back style makes it easy to learn from the video instructions. You'll need some basic to intermediate coin knowledge to get the most out of this routine. Troy teaches the basic routine and several variations which gives you the ability to make a longer modular routine or swap out moves you may not like as much. A great strolling routine.

Troy gives very clear explanations of the moves, with repetitions and views from different angles so they are perfectly clear. Nothing is terribly difficult, just need practice so that everything is smooth. The variations Troy demonstrates add extra dimension to the routine and can easily be applied or adapted to other routines as well. All in all, this set of coins and instruction is a great value for your money and provides a lot of audience appeal.

Charming Chinese Challenge is excellent! The dollar sized Chinese coins are beautiful. The supplied ribbon is 30 inches long. Even if for some reason you don’t like Troy’s routine, this is a perfect set to buy because of the coins. I have slightly undersized and dry hands. Because of this, I thought I would need to use my own half dollar sized Chinese coins, but it turns out that the larger size is manageable. The weight of the larger coins helps so that the actions may be completed quickly and reliably. Troy’s routine is well thought out and I see why his routine is considered the standard. The instructional video focuses upon the essential actions. Also, the video includes another half dozen or more variations that could be incorporated into the standard routine. The routine uses sleights that are common to anyone performing coin magic. Given the length of time he has performed this routine, I would have liked to hear more about the fine touches required to elevate the performance as well as how he has addressed problems with audience management. He does offer some advice, but it appears that performing for camera is not his favorite thing. Regardless, I highly recommend this effect.

Loooooooove this product. First, I wear the coins around my neck so that it leads to the magic trick when someone asks me “what’s that”. Second, this is classic magic well put together. Third, the coins themselves are well made and so is the string. This is now part of my daily routine. My only feedback is that the training video should be recorded from the performer’s view. It was a little harder to figure out many of the moves because of the camera perspective. Nonetheless, still a solid buy. I would purchase this again.

Love the simplicity and cleanness of these effects. The best part is that I can use several of these moves and concepts throughout my repertoire. The video is perfect, not overly produced, but professional with great sound quality. The coins are of good workmanship and weight. There's a lot going for this routine. It's well structured, with an ending which both makes sense and is surprising. It's easy to carry and well taught. If you're an absolute beginner, I might go to other resources first. While the moves are taught, it seems aimed at intermediate magicians. This has the advantage of meaning the instructions don't go on for too long.
It's different to other routines you'll know, not too difficult, and takes little pocket space. So there's little to lose in picking it up!

You get the necessary coins and the ribbon, plus a download link. The instructions are very clear, with each phase and move described well and shown from multiple angles. Here is the most important part of this trick; it is actually ridiculously easy to do. Maybe a 2/3 out of 10 difficulty. Anyone with even a novice amount of skill with coins will be able to do this. Don't let this dissuade you! It's a beautiful routine, beautiful simple props. There are advanced alternative handling ideas included as well, if you want them.

This is truly a premium product. Really nicely packaged. The coins are beautifully made with some heft to it. Instructions are really clear and the routine itself is not hard at all. The sleights are fairly easy to accomplish with a few hours of practice. Getting the actions to follow naturally takes quite a bit of practice and ensuring no awkward movements. The DVD audio and video quality is not HD but still discernable (the only reason I have marked this is good and not excellent). I have performed this a few times and its a winner. Great for standup type of situations. Get this!

This is a pretty straightforward trick and product. Coins with holes on them are threaded on a string, and come off the string magically one at a time. Troy's routine is one of the more well known ones, relatively easy to do (not self-working, but not knuckle-busting either), and taught clearly.
Everything is included in a neat little package, good quality coins (you get 4) and a ribbon (nothing special about it, but it's nice that the set is complete).
I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn a routine like this.

Troy Hooser coin magic, has always been awesome!! I already had his first version of CCC in the little booklet and was immediately hooked and in love with this routine!! Anyone who likes to do magic with coins and maybe also ring and string has both together here!!!! As already mentioned, it is so well thought out and presented with great charm, a wonderful routine!!! Out of a possible five stars, I definitely give it six!!! I just performed this two days ago and the "volunteer" who helped me with it followed me to ask how it was possible. The entire routine even with the personalization I gave was as nearly perfect as I have ever seen. I liked it so well that I bought a second one and keep one in my pocket at all times; and a spare in my show cases. even though I blew part of the final phase it still worked out perfectly. I recommend it to all!

Easy to learn and soooo beautiful. I love it. I am new to coins and the beauty of this routine is that you do not have to know coin moves (except for one spellbound change, which is very easy) and for the rest you are sooo good covered from all angles. I love it.

I love this! It took me 1 hour to learn it as I am a ring and string vet, but I did one change to the moves that made the routine 10x easier for me. It is so sleight it is not worth the hubbub so don't flip your stack. ;)

The routine is excellent; perfect for strolling or restaurant work. The only problem is the coins. The coins are well made, however they have rounded edges and a lacquer finish which makes handling the coins difficult, even if your hands have the right kind of tackiness. I struggled with them and finally got another set which has no finish and straight edges which facilitate handling, even if your hands are moist or dry. There is a move in the routine which requires the slippery coin property, but you can work around that. This isn't really for beginners, but it's not advanced. There are comments about the size of the coins. The coins need to be large so the audience can clearly see what's going on. If you get smaller coins to make handling easier, the audience won't really be able to see what's happening, and attention will drift or people will switch to "figure it out" mode.

This is a great product, difficult enough to be a challenge but simple enough to be fun. I have been learning coin magic for a few months but have not really performed anything yet, I will definitely be using this to perform and build confidence in other coin routines. The coins are beautiful and the tutorial is excellent, with a basic (but mind blowing routine) and then some extras, all the moves are easy to follow and everything feels very achievable. I highly recommend this set.

Beautiful penetration sequence that looks as good in real performance as it does in the video. Holding the coins and ribbon in the FSP coin wallet enables everything to be neatly stored safely and compactly, and then enables you to ring in the extra coin effortlessly.

This coin routine is excellent, you have choices of several different endings, a great but simple video production, a great teacher, the quality and weight of these coins are superb, I have never come across better Chinese coins than this set, this coin routine is great for a beginner to a pro, as it's so easy to learn and great fun to perform, and is just a great routine.
If your new to coin magic first once finished this routine put the ribbon back through the coins which is an excuse to then put them away, then switch out another coin set say another Chinese coin set and a matching chinese expanded shell, you can then go into loads of other easy coin routines, also v inc,s 3 way mirror, by Sean Yang is a great way to practice you will fool yourself if using this mirror, and have great fun learning with this.

I’m honestly not very into close up magic or coin magic such as this. But I thought I’d give it a shot and man I’m so glad I did. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with this effect. It has some amazing sleight of hand that with a couple hours of practice you could learn pretty quickly. (Mind you you may not have it down well, because when he performs this it really is quite “charming”) I really love love this and it’s always a go to when I want to show my friends and family an effect. People absolutely love it! Get it!

Troy has created something special here. I've seen this performed by magicians quite a bit over the years. I'd had ideas about how it was done, but the beauty with which this is demonstrated by its creator is beyond what I'd realized was possible with these simple props a silk, and some coins.

I order this set four days ago and int arrived today. When I opened Thr package I was greeted by three beautiful coins and when I played the easy to follow instructions I was hooked. Thank you VanishingInc. You never disappoint.

I purchased a set a few years ago when the CCC first came out. I did it for my walk around gigs for a couple of years. I can tell you this new set is much better. The coins are a little heavier and because of this you can ad a couple of new moves to convince your audience the coins are really escaping the ribbon. When I do a walk around I use a script to explain what is happening and because of the slightly larger coins it routine seems to flow better. In my platform setting I tend to use music and let them see what is going on. There is one spot where I do need a helper and I will bring someone up for the brief moment and do the release in their hand with the audience looking on. Because of the heavier and slightly larger coins the CCC is much easier to handle and perform.

This is truly a no nonsense and straight forward explanation of how to use the coins. I also find that in watching it several times there are little aspects of the performance that seems to enhance what the audience sees. The mention of eye contact and subtle variations possible is very useful as well. In fact I can see revisiting the instructional video from time to time in the future even after the moves are mastered just to refresh and refine one’s technique. The product itself is solid each coin has an authentic feel and nice weight. Great product overall as to be expected from vanishing INC.

This is a really fun trick to do! People of all ages seem to like it equally. It’s very visual. Great for walkaround and reset is basically instant. I always carry it when strolling.
Practice is crucial but it’s not a difficult trick at all. Angles are important to know; avoid people being directly next to or behind you. I’ve done it surrounded and it was fine but it was harder to pull off.
Another cool thing to try: do it with two coins instead of three and the last phase as a ring vanish. Sometimes I just do the ring vanish.

Saw Mr Jay perform this at a lecture in Baltimore. Had a cheaper set at home which I tried out but they were thin and rough on the surface. This made handling difficult. The set from Vanishing was 110% better. The coin are beautiful, smooth and very easy to use. The instructions are very simple and easy to follow. However, Mr Jay’s demonstration at the lecture was even better! Don’t miss a chance to see him perform this live!

I saw Joshua Jay perform this on several different YouTube videos for TV interviews and fell in love with the trick, I had to have it. Such a good price for such an absolutely amazing showpiece.
It isn’t even that technical and you create impossible moments and everything can be examined! This is perfect, seriously. A solid 3 to maybe 5 minutes of something laypeople will never have seen before.

The tutorial could have taken a closer look at the sleight of hand moves used. For someone that has no sleight of hand experience I'm left feeling it may be too difficult to learn this routine. I'll try to learn how to do this and see how I go. The rating I have given includes my insecurity in my skill leve.
