“The Crazyman’s Split” has been Henry Harrius’ opener for years. It’s a permanent part of his close-up act and now he’s releasing it for the world to enjoy.

You visually split one rubberband into two, melt both back into one, and then go into your normal Crazyman’s Handcuffs routine.

As you know, Henry is a worker, so he even teaches his secret to performing this eye-popping visual in a walkabout situation. The reset happens during the performance!

As a bonus, you’ll also be taught “Rubberband Explosion” where one band is transformed into a bunch of bands right before your eyes.

"This is fantastic! This would make an excellent addition to any rubber band set.”Joe Rindfleisch

"Love Henry’s work! Needless to say the effect is great, but I found the true value of this project is in the in-and-out details Henry designed to perform in professional situations. Learn the thinking behind the project will definitely inspire one to be a better artist. And of course you get to learn a killer visual routine!" Will Tsai

"This is a great opener for rubber band magic! So visual and love this unique presentation!"Jeki Yoo

Customer reviews for Crazyman's Split

Leland
This is a terrific set of rubber band effects and the moves/ presentations are explained clearly. Very easy to perform with a little practice. This video is a natural companion to "Crazy Sam's Handcuffs" and I recommend obtaining both.
Mike
Great download. Great production values and clear teaching. Plus, it looks like real magic. The spectator doesn't expect it and gets a real surprise!
Jeff
Somehow, I seem to be (pun intended) tied up with rubber-band effects currently.
Love using every day, familiar objects to amaze.
Great moves to add to any tricks based on rubber-band effects.
Go!
Trevor
Excellent explanation, well detailed and slick handling. great teacher , all you rubber band guys get this, well worth the price
Patricia
great explanation - now practice time -
John
A quick and highly visual effect. Great for walk around and relatively easy to master.
Jean-Philippe
Merci Henry for this beautiful tutorial and ideas with simple rubber bands. it's ever what you do but how we do it as we all know.
Edwin
The method seems simple and obvious when you know it, but the effect looks like real magic. It could be done on its own but is more of a flashy introduction to other rubber band tricks that need two bands. Henry shows a simple routine starting with the split, following with CMH (not explained but a reference is given) and finishing with a well known vanish of the second band, which was published in Apocalypse and should really have been credited. But altogether it makes a nice routine and everything except for CMH is well explained.
Felix
I love it so much (Crazyman’s Split) this is what I call an insane Magic Trick it look so unbelievable real Magic that your eyes won’t believe it. AWESOME MAGIC TRICK highly recommended 100%.
James
I have just recently learned crazy man’s handcuffs (being quite the newcomer to magic). It’s a nice little trick but over too quickly. This is a nice way to lengthen the routine and not that difficult to do even for a beginner. It’s well taught and very clear from the video how to achieve the effect. The bonus at the end is welcome though quite difficult compared to the simple split.
Craig
what a nice opener to perform leading into the crazy man's handcuffs routine and then to add a bonus after, the instructions are very clear and explained well by henry, the extra bit afterwards works well in the routine and the explosion is truly magical, great download
Lars
Great !
Brian
This is such a good way of starting a crazy man's handcuffs routine. Very pleased with this.
Charles
An excellent creation that is practical and very visual.
Brandon
This is a nice way to introduce a rubber band effect. Simple to learn. If you've done some of the basic rubber band effects you should possess the skills to do this one quickly as the move is a somewhat modified version of one of the first rubber band effects I learned. The only drawback is you'll want to use bands of a similar color. Also, if you use any bands other than the basic color you'll have to be more precise in your handling.
James
Great opener to Crazy Man's Handcuffs and Crazy Sam's Handcuffs. Clear and concise explanation. What you expect from Henry Harrius!
Octavio
A simple trick to do, that will be great as a warm-up ir opener. The only suggest I have is to teach the penetration move, if you are going to talk and show it.
Jimmy
Crazyman's Split is a great add-on to your rubberbands repertoire. It's perfect opener for the Crazyman Handcuffs. Henry explained the methode very well so you can perform it. I could required some practice but he will walk you through it step by step. The video comes not only with the split rubberband but also completed rubberband routine. Henry Harrius always put out great effects that can be done impromptu.
Watt
Very well explained. Everybody should do CMH and this routining is top notch. A perfect three phase routine. Well worth the sale price.
Michael
This is a very good explanation of the split, which also covers the basic how to palm a rubber band, which is very useful. I would have liked it even more, if the crazyman's handcuffs hab been covered too, but overall it's good value for the money.
Jim
Very well done. Add this to your rubber band magic!
Amanda

Great effect to add to any rubber band routine. It is very interesting, visual and not hard to learn. The video is in very good quality and Henry does a great work at explaining by providing a lot of details. Size 16 rubber bands are recommended by Henry so you might add that to your order if you don't have it already.
Vince
If you do rubber band magic this is a great effect to have and if you don't this is the perfect one to start using. It is a very interesting effect and the teaching on the video is excellent. I thought the teaching of palming a rubber band was most useful. This is not hard to do after just a little practice. Highly recommended. A+++++++++++
Samuel
A quick visual effect for a rubber band split effect. Very clear teaching with audience perspective and over-the-shoulder camera shots. Also includes method for a sort of slow motion vanish of one of the bands. Makes for perfect bookends for Crazy Man's Handcuffs.
Raciel
This is a great setup to crazy man handcuffs which I actually learned recently. I actually learned more advanced rubber band tricks but it's a classic for a reason. it's ideal for strolling and this gives a reason to have two rubber bands. the tutorial is straightforward and I had no issues with learning this routine.
Christopher
Very good split to and return from a single rubber band. You’ll have to work with specific pinch points and adjustment to your own hand but with practice it works very well.
