How long should the battery last while switched on? I don't find it very doable to operate the switch just prior to performing.

If fully charged, it could be switched on for many hours.

Can you use a half dollar or a folded card. I'am interested in using this device in combination with Revolve by Nicolas Lawrence.

You could use a folded card if it is small enough. A half dollar is probably too large. A quarter is the right size.

Yes, there is a on/off switch inside. Switched off, the charge will last for a month.

Is it easy to load the Gimmick with a borrowed Ring?

I don't think you can do it with a borrowed ring unfortunately.

Peter, I honestly think that you will have more than ample time to retrieve the deck and switch it out....mainly because they will be so freaked out by the appearance of the coin.....and that will supply you with the time and misdirection that you need.
