This is without a doubt the worst haunted key I have owned over a 30 year period. I bought it assuming it would be like the other key Murphy's sell which is ok at the price. But this has a different design. The key has two flat edges on the shank/stem. This along with poor balance means you have little control over the key. A good key you can puppeteer and allow it to turn over at the pace you want. This requires a terrible angle on the hand going down and flops right over when it reaches the half way point. Even on the tutorial they struggled to show the movement and tried to suggest the quick turn over at the end was an advantage that you could write into your script. It's sad as the haunted key can be an amazing effect but if this is your introduction to the idea it will put you off. I know it was fairly cheap, but so is the other key Murphy's produce which doesn't have the balance and design issues of this.

Unfortunately, this is 100% unusable. I’ve done the haunted key professionally for over 15 years and can wield some pretty clunky keys that have been genuinely found at antique malls, but this is highway robbery for even half the price. If I was at an antique mall testing keys to see if they were weighted properly this one would not only be thrown back in the bin, but set aside as ‘no freaking way, no chance, don’t get it confused with the others, never even think about buying it.’
Stay far away. I hope Murphy’s continues making their Deluxe Haunted Key. That is perfect.
