“So so so clever. Jeki has taken an old classic incredible move and brought new life to it in only the Jeki Yoo way. Oh My for real!” Blake Vogt
“The Mirror Paddle is a lovely take on the classic Diamond Rod plot that elevates it into a truly beautiful piece of magic.” Henry Harrius
A fresh, visual take on the classic Jumping Gems with a twist only Jeki Yoo could dream up.
“Mirror Paddle”, Jeki Yoo takes a timeless plot and elevates it into a polished, visual showpiece filled with moments that feel truly impossible.
Here’s what a routine looks like:
You begin by showing an empty stick and a mirror. With a subtle wipe of the mirror across the surface of the stick, a single diamond springs into view on one side. You turn it over to show the other side is blank, and with another wipe, another diamond appears. Now there’s one on each side.
From here, the visuals ramp up. With a smooth thumb wipe, the diamonds begin to jump back and forth, multiplying until there are four, one at each end. You hold the mirror up, and the gems visually slide and join together right before your participants' eyes. In the last phase, a diamond appears to lift out of its own reflection and snap back into place on the paddle.
Everything happens in plain sight, and when you’re finished, the paddle and mirror can be handed out for examination.
Mirror Paddle is easy to perform, highly visual, and perfect for both close-up and table hopping, and because the moments are so visually striking, it’s great for social media too. Oh my!
Customer reviews for Mirror Paddle
This comes with the necessary gimmick, mirror and online tutorial.
Jeki Yoo has a unique approach to his magic and everything he touches is visual, practical and startling. He has taken a simple paddle trick and created something fun and filled with surprises.
The first thing he has done is create the reason for having a 'paddle' in the first place. In this case it is the handle of a small mirror. The size is small enough to carry in your pocket so it makes a good walk-around routine. If you thought the 'paddle' routine was old and outdated then this should change your mind.
Once you have taken the handle out you can then go ahead with the multi-phase routine where the magic happens. You show a blank paddle and then once it contacts the mirror strange and magical things happen
The moves are easy and if you can do a basic paddle move then you'll do this straight away. If you aren't sure what a paddle move is don't worry Jeki goes in to detail on how to do it.
As the routine moves forward one diamond becomes two, it moves and you can show both sides throughout the routine. The climax uses the mirror and you are clean and can hand everything out.
A great trick with enough touches to make it different than a regular paddle trick plus it's a fun premise. I've performed it live and online now with great reactions.
Very highly recommended.

Andrew asks: What material is this made out of?
- 1. James A. responds:I think it's plastic.
- 2. Andrew responds:I have it in my hands, and can confirm, it is plastic.
Dan asks: Can everything be examined when you are through?
- 1. Martin responds:From watching the trailer I’d say yes
- 2. Robert responds:I have used this and yes, you can hand everything out to be examined at the end.
David asks: Reminds me of Jumping Gems. Adding the mirror is novel.
- 1. David responds:I can envision pushing the handle 'into' the mirror, penetrating the mirror to the other side. And pulling the reflection of the handle 'out' of the mirror, duplicating the handle. With two handles you can go in a Jumping Gems routine. With a Jumping Gems hot rod ending (colored gems along the full length of the handle). The mirror can be a very handy prop as the magician pulls a card or a deck or a coin or a sponge ball out of the mirror to go into various routines.
