This was very nice to have as a resource for a up to date venue with a live show and a great interview. The tricks were not anything new for me personally, but it was great to have the insight on having a career in this setting. "Learn Bar Magic with Bibik" is a great course on showmanship, people management and routining for close-up, walkaround, and bar magicians! The tricks taught are great and Bibik excellently explains why he routines his bar show the way he does to maximize impact and keep people interested. The video quality is amazing. Super cool to see the Chicago Magic Lounge featured here as well, Bibik performs there regularly. Wow. I'm a working bartender/magician and this was pure gold to me. Unlike Bibik, I pour drinks as well, so I do little shows. If I get the chance, I can do a larger & longer show but not all the time. Quick tricks that get the reactions are best. His tips on tricks & gags were great and so were the stories. Bibik does a great job. He may be using some of the same tricks that many other magicians use, but his personality and presentation elevate those tricks far beyond the ordinary. I would have liked to have heard more about his mentors and who influenced him. He mentioned he is from Detroit. I wonder if Karrell Fox might have had an impact on Jeff.

For me, this was pure schmaltz, e.g., bad jokes, awful puns and lame magic. Someone needs to teach him how to load a chop cup. An embarrassment that leaves lay audiences with a bad taste in their mouth about magic and magicians.

I’m an amateur magician, and I recently watched this bar magic masterclass. Even though I don’t plan to perform in bars myself, seeing a true professional like Bibik work in that environment was fascinating and inspiring. I've seen Bibik perform at the Chicago Magic lounge a couple of times. Great to learn some of his insights from being behind the bar and how he frames classics of magic with humor and gags to provides entertainment night in and night out.

I met Bibik many years ago (actually maybe like 6 or 7 years ago) at the magic lounge. Chicago developed a style of magic called the Chicago style of magic. His quick adaptability at the bar and jokes add to his magic. He actually took me off to the side afterwards and introduced me to the owner! The owner ended up showing me the ins and outs of the lounge and standing room access to the close up theatre. This video contains his act (which are quick and easy) and quick explanations. The effects are all standard but contain his touches. Honestly if you are into walk around and bar magic or even how to deal with drunk people, this is a great video. His gags are endless. Sure there’s no knuckle busting moves but that’s not what bar magic is about. It’s about making people feel included, interacting with the bar staff, quick gags, and getting tips. It’s about working the bar. Now excuse me while I grab some pastrami at Manny’s (which Bibik also works from time to time.)

I'm afraid I have to agree with the dissenters here. This is really dated stuff, a bunch of jokey effects (like the 3 1/2 clubs), store-bought gags, performed like they were being demo-ed at a magic shop. Bibik may have been one of the top performers back in the day, but magic and humor have moved on and this old-fashioned act doesn't do our craft any favors.

I really enjoyed hearing about the history of bar magic, the nuances needed for that environment and getting a look into the Chicago Magic Lounge. As someone who does a lot of close-up and has done some bar magic work, I found it of value to see Bibik's material selection. I think the Jokers trick is the real standout for me.

I really enjoyed the how, why, and history / evolution discussions sprinkled through this. Unlike a lot of 'here is a bunch of tricks' videos - which I do love, don’t get me wrong - this has a lot of discussion on the different bar sets through a single night, content in each set, dealing with bar crowds, getting a bar gig, etc., etc. Practical, working information in performing in a bar environment, which I needed more than I needed new tricks. Bibik talking about how he got started, how his magic evolved when switching to bars and why it evolved, various things he learned along the way, and what he changed and why he changed it was really valuable. Tips and subtleties on some of the effects, as well as dealing with certain situations that come up in the bar environment are also very useful. Just the interview / question and answer session at the end to me was as or more valuable than a typical trick video. Very happy with my purchase. I definitely recommend this download whether you have other bar magic material or not – perhaps especially if you have other bar magic material that focuses mostly on tricks or effects. Five stars. Thank you!

I have a mixed feeling about this download. It could be that Chicago bar magic is not my cup of tea, or it could be that the audience has to be a bit on the tipsy side and/or have an incredibly short attention span from alcohol consumption. Bibik is very charismatic, but the presentation itself felt very flat, unoriginal. The whole act consisted of a string of magic tricks loosely tied together by tasteless puns and gags, overfilled with cliche mixed in with vulgarities. Yawn.

This is excellent up to date bar magic. Much of the older bar magic books & videos are dated and some of the material would be offensive to today's audience. Bibik's approach is fresh and made for modern bar patrons.
