A jaw-dropping, visual spectacle that is easy to perform and will even fool your magician friends. This wallet-sized miracle is the perfect EDC.

After letting someone pick a card, you explain how the key to finding their card is written in the stars…literally. You pull out a phone and shine the light through a specially-made card with tons of holes punched into it, projecting “stars” on the wall. This seemingly random array of stars then magically morphs into a one-of-a-kind reveal of their selected card.

"Planetarium is a stunner of a trick; very highly recommended. [It] is possibly the most visual card revelation I have seen this year." Mark Elsdon

The best part about “Planetarium” is that you start and end clean. You can freely hand out the card to be examined with no switches. There’s nothing to find. No matter what they do, they will never be able to make the stars show the reveal again. Both lay audiences and your magician friends will be left completely baffled.

  • Very easy to do
  • Fits in any wallet
  • Use any phone or flashlight
  • Projects to a large room
  • No flaps, slides, or moving parts

“Planetarium” is an entertaining, surprising, unique, and practical effect that feels much larger than a simple card trick. It has an instant reset and is easy enough for any magician. This fun piece of magic is perfect for everything from casual performances to paid gigs.

What an incredible use of an optical principle to make this work. The video explains how it works and how to perform once the card is “selected”. Two card forcing techniques are also explained. But most who purchase will probably have their own method. What is missing is how you transition with the deck to. Bringing tbe gimmick into play. That you will need to work out depending on how you handle the secret included item. What would be nice is having additional gimmicks to reveal different cards. There is only one unique card that is revealed with this effect at this time. I like it as you have a very very unique way of revealing a selected or thought of card.
Eric
Wow - great method!

This is awesome. I thought the ad copy was exaggerating. But it is truly completely examinable before and after, nothing added or removed. I’ve shown this to half a dozen magicians already and they didn’t have a clue how it was done. A truly new and fun effect. I would like to be able to buy more versions with a variety of different cards and also with non-card images.

Its a must have EDC item. Really loved the simplicity of the effect. It looks like real magic.

As magicians we know several ways to reveal a card, but this is definitely interesting to the audience. It is visual and curious. I haven't received my gimmick yet but the method is really clever and practical. I loved it and I am looking forward to start performing it.
Tony
Absolutely brilliant. I have never seen anything like this before: it's very clever, and fully lives up to the ad copy: I didn't expect this to be so good! I think this has to be my trick of the year! Sheer genius. Thanks Manu Jo and Vanishing Inc for making this available. I can't stop smiling when I think about how this works!

Using physics to achieve an effect is brilliant. The only issues for me are the requirements of introducing a deck of cards, choosing one, and the appearance of that card, that everyone has seen projected onto the wall… an obvious card trick. The star card should be the primary focus.

I try to keep forces out of my repertoire as much as possible and eliminating the need for a deck of cards at all makes this a great way to segue into introducing a deck and beginning a few moments of fun and pure card tricks. I love this effect, but will perform it with my decks on the table or in a pocket.

What I’d like to do, with a lot of thinking, a false start or two, begin by writing something down on a napkin and folding it up. Then, produce the star card, pass it around, describe it’s purpose (haven’t thought about that yet), borrow a phone and have that person hold the star card close to the wall (so it’s difficult for onlookers to see), while telling her I’m thinking of a card, and to concentrate on the stars and try to imagine what I’m thinking of. Eventually, the 3 of hearts would vaguely and quickly appear and dissapear, and the accomplice will see it. I produce the napkin, show it to her ask if that’s what they thought of. She says “yes” becomes the hero, and when her friends ask how she did it, hopefully the response is “I don’t know, I just thought I saw it for a split second.”
Because the actual 3H card is never produced, maybe never even mentioned, it becomes something less memorable and can possibly be used again in the future (would REALLY love to use other cards).

For me, this is a perfect effect to attract a crowd and start a show.

Works well. I can see my students spellbound by it. I'm a little concerned that the light plastic cover, that I mistakenly removed the first time, will not be up to the challenge of being handled often. We'll see.

George is an EXCELLENT presenter and teacher!!

Fun to perform. Nice and easy!

GREAT
Eric
I don’t why I was surprised, but this gets great reactions. Better than I had expected. I love anything that is readily examined. This requires so little practice, it could be performed in minutes. The only thing that would make it better would be another card option or two. The one I received was so good that, after only a week of having it, the projection card vanished itself. (I might have lost it, but let’s not rush to conclusions. I’m still waiting for the transposition). That being said, there will be no hesitation in purchasing a second Planetarium.

This is a great idea and will be fun to use in performance, but as a few have already mentioned, it is a little unfortunate that you only have one card choice, as it won't be usable very often in a walk-around setting. That being said, I'm trying to figure out if there is an easy way to make my own where I could reveal other cards.
The quality seems fine, but we'll have to see how the material stands the test of time.
Louis
Very impressive
Fun and easy to do
Thanks

Planetarium by Manu Jo is an exceptionally well-designed magic effect that impresses every audience. The effect is elegant, modern, and highly visual, making it perfect for close-up or stage performances. It is easy to handle, versatile, and feels very professional. The quality and creativity behind this product are outstanding, and it provides a memorable experience for spectators. Every performance with Planetarium feels polished and impactful, making it a must-have for any magician seeking to elevate their repertoire.

Very clever method. The spectators can hold the gimmick themselves and it can be done with a borrowed phone with a flashlight.
Once you craft a good story around it - I talk about star constellations and how people find patterns of starts that create a familiar shape to them.
You can reveal the prediction both in an instant or make it slowly fade in. With the presentation about the stars I go with the slow one, and tell the spectator to try to see the pattern in these starts.
It is awesome.

Fantastic. This reminds me of Tenyo’s Hyper Vision. It uses a clever, optical principle, but very easy to do and really visual for you audience… I played with it for maybe 10 minutes after opening it and I was able to work it that quickly there is some sleight-of-hand involved if you want to do that. But you don’t need to really use that method if you want to get a little tricky with your own phone. I love it though. It’s amazing.
Thomas
One of the most innovative yet practical methods I've seen in a long time, and a beautiful effect.
Mike
A wonderful effect, the method is similar to a few other effects that already pre-exist and I say that meaning the technology in it has predated this, but it is used in such a way that it is fresh and new. There’s two methods included where you have to kind of manipulate one thing (using the spectator’s ) but the other one is very simple to do using your own phone. Totally love it. Hyper visual.

If you like what you see in the trailer, you should absolutely buy this trick. It is super easy to do and the method is fun. Great quality gimmick as well. I wish there were other cards that could be revealed, but other than that, there are really no negatives with this one.

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Douglas asks: Is it likely there will be a release with a non-playing card option? I have so many ‘card tricks’, and try to add new items to my repertoire that don’t use regular cards. An image, maybe an ESP symbol, an animal, etc, would be ideal.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:At the moment this isn’t something we are looking into but this may change in the future
  • Tom asks: When you get a new card instead of the 3H will you announce it here?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yes
  • Tom asks: How can I reinforce the plastic covering with the dots. it's starting to peel away from the plastic

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:There was a protective plastic cover that should be removed when you first get it. That could be what’s peeling away as the plastic itself shouldn’t peel.
  • Phil asks: Without giving away too much, is this like WOW by Masuda? Now if they sell this where the user can customize with a person's name, image, etc., then it would be more powerful. I like the concept.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:This is not like WOW. There are no moving parts, the spectator can hold the gimmick the whole time and immediately examine it after. Sadly, it is only available in 3H at this time.
  • Patrick asks: I'm not sure if I can ask this here or if it would be too revealing, but can I ask how much (if any) palming is involved? Those of us with small hands always have to consider this. :)

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:There is a small amount of palming just to ring the gimmick in and out
  • Jim asks: Isn't this a Jason Bird effect?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:This is not a Jason Bird Effect
  • Chris asks: How or where do we get the replacement gimmick? Not the part with the holes but the thing necessary to do the effect. Mine was lost during a gig.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Please email our Support Wizards and they can help you. wizards@vanishingincmagic.com
  • Frederick asks: Is this item available in another version with a different card than the 3 of Hearts?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Unfortunately, that is the only card.
  • Pierre-Ulric asks: Hi there - this looks lovely. The trailer shows this effect performed a couple of feet from the wall/surface with a relatively small projected shadow image. I am just wondering if the effect would still work with the card (and light source) further away from a wall, i.e. so that the shadow projects much larger. It would allow the effect to be performed to significantly larger groups in a parlor/stage setting.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:The further away you get, the blurrier the image will be. This effect is best in close up.
  • Rembault asks: I already own Stellar by Alchemist insider and it use a card clip, is this a new method to do the effect? thanks for the help

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:This is a new method
