The "Quantum Spoon Bend" is what appears to be a good product. It seems that it is a practical product for entertaining an audience. My enthusiasm for the product is tempered by the spoon received. The spoon is not a regular spoon, but one that is similar to a "baby spoon" used to feed a baby. The spoon is small. If the user wants to use a regular spoon, he will need to create a gimmicked spoon by doing some DIY work on a regular spoon or the style of spoon the magician wishes to use. The small spoon provided is satisfactory for understanding the concept and method, and initial practice, however, I expect that spectators would be expecting the entertainer to use a regular spoon at at least a style the spectator is familiar with or anticipating to see. As well, the bend is more of a sideways bend rather than a straight bending of the spoon handle, as most laymen are predisposed to seeing. The illusion is the bending of a spoon, just not a customary bend. I believe is some entertainment quality is offered by this product, but I am not confident there will be a high level of excitement experienced by the spectator.

  • Josh asks: I purchased this from a local magic dealer. Do you have any performance footage of this with actual spectators not just for the camera? It seems impractical.

    • 1. Josh responds:Also; buyer beware you will probably need to fix your gimmick. Mine fell apart out of the box; a little super glue or tac will probably fix it right up but just something to be aware of.

  • Johnny asks: The practice spoon looks quite small. Does this mean the gimmick wouldn't work with something like a tea spoon which has a larger handle and might look odd or not fit the gimmick? Thanks.

  • Paul asks: In the trailer the performer says that you, "hand it back to the spectator to keep as a souvenir." If that statement is accurate, would you have to then buy another copy of Quantum Spoon Bend to perform the trick again?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:No. It's a gimmick you attach to a spoon you either borrow or bring yourself. It is that regular spoon you can leave with your audience.

  • Greg asks: A previous question spoke about the type of spoon and how the borrowed spoon needs to match the gimmick - is this spoon universally accessible or can it only be found in the country where the product is manufactured? IE: Living outside of the UK and USA, will I be able to find a matching spoon to perform this trick?

    • 1. Jim responds:The spoon is basic, and it is likely to be available in restaurant supply stores. That said, I can only speak for the USA. YMMV.

  • William asks: I purchased a "Spoon Bend" two years ago from a different vendor. It was a very unwise purchase. It required the use of an oil/liquid to bend the spoon or an alternative method was to "freeze" the spoon prior to performance and then bend it with the heat from the hand. Does this effect require any such preparation? The "Spoon Bend" I previously purchased is more for visual presentation on a computer or electronic device, I am not interested in such nonsense. Can you advise as to this product, "Quantum Spoon Bend"?

    • 1. Jim responds:This one is practical—you can perform it live or online. Other than having the gimmick handy, you do not need anything special. No oil, liquid or freezing needed.
