Teddy (Michel Huot)

From the mind behind the best-selling hit “Socks” Michel Huot brings you “Teddy,” a powerful piece of magic that leaves your audience with an emotional moment that they’ll remember forever.
Here’s how the trick plays out: You ask your participant the name of their favorite childhood stuffed animal, before spreading a handful of cards with a different plush toy on each. After they select a card, you reach into your pocket and pull out a matching toy!
But that isn't where the trick ends. Not only do you have their chosen toy, but written on the tag around the toy's neck is the name of their childhood toy!
"Teddy" is the type of trick that is meaningful for adults and fun for kids, making it great for all audiences. It can be performed everywhere from table-hopping to parlor to even stage, resets quickly, and is incredibly easy to do. It comes complete with the plush toy Teddy, custom illustrated cards, the name tag, a complete tutorial, and refills for 20 performances.
At Magic Live Las Vegas 2025, David Copperfield himself was first in line to buy "Teddy". Are you going to be the next?
Everyone had a stuffed animal as a kid, and that memory still lives inside them. “Teddy” brings that memory to life in the most magical way possible.

Kirk asks: Can additional teddy bears be purchased so it can be given away?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:We do not sell additional teddy bears
Wilder asks: Is there any clothing requirement? I ask because ive owned similar ones that would require some form of cover for the one part.
- 1. Michel (creator) responds:Well, you don't need a jacket. I perform this with short sleeves but I know not everyone would.
David asks: Why would you permit a trick that portrays our president as being mean?
- 1. Michel (creator) responds:Hello David, of course someone who buys Teddy is welcome to take this card out of the deck. If i may add, if I would be living in the states, I would avoid that card/joke. I live outside the US and this is a hot topic everywhere. Of course, I don't always perform with it depending who I am working for.
- 2. David responds:Let me add that I think it is inappropriate. I think we all should do our best to not let divisive politics be a part of our magic community.
Martin asks: Do you have plans to make this so it looks more like the illustration on the box - a teddy?
- 1. Michel (creator) responds:Hello Martin. No plans at the moment.
Christopher asks: Can you include a full performance? I’m curious as to the writing of the toys name and how it gets to the collar.
- 1. Michel (creator) responds:Hello Christopher... I can't seem to put a link to a youtube video here but go on youtube and look for Teddy Huot Copperfield. I did it to David Copperfield in Vegas and it's a full performance.
David asks: Isn't this the same trick I bought from Vanishing a couple years back by Jon Archer called Collarred 2????
- 1. Michel (creator) responds:Hello David. The premise is basically the same (with my trick Teddy, the spectator also selects a plush toy). Many magicians (John Archer, Morgan and West, Paul Rohmany and many others) have their own versions. Mine s yet another one with a different method. Hope that helps.
