The Gift
The Gift

Angelo Carbone is one of our industry's most clever inventors. With us, he has built the sort of credibility to pay close attention to ANYTHING with his name on it. "The Gift" might be his most wildly original idea yet! We are so, so, so impressed the engineering marvel that is ...The Gift.
What you receive is a box that gives you multiple outs. The box is examinable, doesn't require anything to be added in or taken away, and it's entirely self-contained. Yet, despite these wonderful constraints, you are able to control which outcome you reveal on a piece of paper. You can reveal up to four outs, while the others remained locked away, concealed from audience view.
The possibilities with "The Gift" are limited only by your imagination. We prefer the non-card effects supplied and suggested, but card tricks like the one in the trailer are hard to top.
The box you receive is attractive yet unassuming, and the quality of the materials will serve you well in your shows for a lifetime. The limited-edition yellow is lovely, but we also love the black color. This is a performance piece equally at home in a close-up magic show or a parlor show of mentalism. The great news is that it's really easy to do too. It is, truly, a gift!
What you get:
- The Gift Box
- Deck of Cards
- 40 min instruction video with Angelo Carbone
Angelo fooled me with his original version, and the finished product is just wonderful. It's a beautiful trick and a very versatile prop with all the trademark elegance we'd expect from one of close-up magic's finest living inventors.Derren Brown
One of the most miraculous things I've ever seen.Richard Kaufman
"I have always been a fan of Angelo's creations. The Gift is another example of Angelo thinking outside the box. I love it!" Asi Wind
"Angelo Carbone has done it again - he's taken something that looks 100% innocent and made it 100% devious." David Regal
"I was fooled badly! There is nothing in magic like this. Angelo is a genius and this release is something that you will love performing!" Luca Volpe
"Absolutely wonderful!" Tomas Blomberg
"Bloody brilliant! Absolute genius!" Jamie Badman
"It absolutely blew me away! I cannot wait to get this and this further exemplifies why Angelo is possibly the greatest living creator!" Jamie Daws
"It's absolutely fantastic!" Mark Elsdon

You have a participant take a deck and deal cards down until they wish to stop. They memorize the card they stop at. YOU hand them the box.
The box BTW has been sitting there the entire time. Not touched AT ALL!. And with your hands open, you pick the box up. and hand it to the participant. THAT IS IT! they open the box, they open the prediction, and you just melted their brains!
Buttttt! why the 4 stars? Well, I am glad you asked to disembody the voice in my head. And that is because this device has some flaws. I know I know. Why can't it just be perfect!!! Booooooo! I'm going back to my center tears!.
Now hold on, it's ok. There are fixes. =).
So. Its shortcomings.
1. It's a big butt box for just a small folded paper. But the audience won't notice. Plus one version taught justifies this by having the deck in the box and telling the participant that there are 2 things in the box. One, I'll show you now. The other I'll show you later.
2. Activating the effect can be a bit awkward. Soooooo my recommendation is to take the activation thingy, FIgure out how it works!!!! and place it in different places so you can do it easier. (THis is the only way I can explain it without giving methods away.... so yeah)
3. The card selecting process is a bit BLEH! to say the least. There is a chance the participant can catch on. I never treat my audience like their idiots. Neither should you. This part if it goes wrong will fly by not many people. And it's an issue too great to ignore. Sooooooo here's my remedy. Make the important half with a dot. I have a red one. So I used a red sharpie to cover the corner white border on the left side or each corner I also colored in the center of the flower on the left side as well. Now I'm talking when you hodl a card, you are coloring in the top left corner in those 2 locations. Then rotate the card 180 degrees and do it again. This way you can know if a card is safe or not. All I can say there.
So who is this effect for? Easy. This is the kind of effect with little actual work behind it, but also a fair amount going on as well. But its easy to do it kind of mindlessly. So you can focus on the presentation. This effect is for anyone who needs a hard-hitting coaster effect. An effect you can kind of relax on.
I am very happy with it and can't wait to start performing with it.
Great attention grabber. Like the iea of the mystery box. Some will say it's to big. For me that's fine.
Instructions are given in how to make these more friendly in case they need working in.
I'm having no issues now. It's great. Good routines included. This to me is not just about cards.
You will be able ot use many different things to predict. Funny to watch the person in the trailer.
This solves many problems in a visual way. Fun to use. More appealing than just an envelope reveal.
Everything included Yeah !

Matt asks: The trick is supplied with a small number of pieces of tyvek paper for various reveals. I want to get hold of some more. What thickness are the ones provided (hard to know what to buy and I don't what them to be too thick)? Where can I buy more?
- 1. William responds:I have used small squares of folded paper. Make sure to make sharp folds so they stay flat. Use the thinnest paper you have available and you should not have a problem.
Eric asks: Are there any forces, or is this at random. Like can i repeat the trick twice to the same audience with a quick setup ?and a different card outcome.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:You can however you would need a quiet corner to reset it
Andy asks: Are details and/or suggestions for good non-card effects supplied? I have a few ideas, and ask because I could just force a card in any number of ways and use a regular gift box. Admittedly not as impressive to a magician, but a layperson would experience nothing noticeably different.
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:The possibilities with "The Gift" are limited only by your imagination. We prefer the non-card effects supplied and suggested, but card tricks like the one in the trailer are hard to top.
Darren asks: Provided you have reset time can the trick be repeated with the same audience?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Under one minute.
Francis asks: Can this be used with different cards in the deck being predicted as chosen? Is the deck “rigged” in any way?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Yes
Vick asks: Can this be used for a drawing duplication? Thinking it should be. What's with the review reading it only worked 20% of the time?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:If you gave them an option of 4 possible drawings to make, then it is possible.
Damian asks: will this play for parlor setting? Or is this designed for close u/table situations
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Presented properly, it will play well in a parlor setting.
Dustin asks: Are there any hard sleights ?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:There aren't really any sleights. There's one secret action, but it's not really even a sleight!
