You show a small coffin and three small mummies, each of mummies are a different color.
When any of the mummies are put in the coffin and the lid is closed, it is impossible for anyone to tell which color mummy is inside unless it is opened.
At this point you turn your head away while the spectator(s) put one of the mummies inside and close the lid.
Now without even touching the coffin you can impress and shock your audience, and predict the color of the mummy that is inside.

In pre-prepping for upcoming Halloween close-up shows, I wanted something new to add to my Halloween themed repertoire but I didn’t want to break the bank for a ‘seasonal’ trick. I saw The Mummy (Essex Magic) advertised and was drawn to the effect and the reasonable price of less than seven dollars. So, I bought it and when it arrived (in short order, I might add… thanks to Vanishing, Inc.’s excellent customer service), I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a fun little trick that kids would enjoy seeing. Okay, it’s not a signature piece of magic that’ll be considered a reputation maker, but it is fun effect thats apparently been around for awhile and is rather mysterious in its own sort of way. It consists of three (3 inch) female Egyptian mummies and a sarcophagus. A helper secretly places one of the mummies in the sarcophagus and hides the other two. The magician calls upon the Pharaoh’s influence to reveal which mummy was entombed (I made that part up, lol). The magician simply looks at the coffin and correctly identifies which mummy is enclosed within. This effect is fun, easy to do and can be repeated, but the sarcophagus needs to be placed on a level flat surface for best results. Don’t let the low price fool you, its worth every ounce of ancient Egyptian ‘Debens’. Oh, and by the way, The Mummy isn’t just a Holloween trick. I plan to use it year round!!
