Very clever setup as well as simple routine. Was not confusing to spectator. Everything made sense. There was a reason for each and every move. Double lift, false shuffle, a little patter appropriate for the occasion and BAM, instant success. Made a great hit with the spectator and left a very memorable souvenir.

I found this step-by-step walk through video really helpful. I have added this sure-fire short routine to my arsenal and it has already come in useful when a clients birthday occurred. Great value, thanks for the video and the clear instructions. Particularly useful as I can make up the cards myself at no cost.

This is a great trick for a birthday party. It leaves the spectator with a little gift, but the presentation itself is also appealing. Most people will have everything needed for performing this trick, so after some drawing and memorizing the moves, you're ready to perform this. Caleb Wiles' teaching is superior as well.

1 word amazing and not too complicated for close up

This is an easy to do signed card with a punch trick and much easier than the method I had been using with a book of matches. I have used double backers in a few of my walk around effects so this is a no brainer trick for my style of magic. Thanks for the wonderful trick. As to how powerful this is I had a woman ask me to do my trick telling me I had done it for her and she had the signed card in a frame on her mantle and loved telling the story of our encounter two years earlier.

This is totally neat little card effect! I work in a tattoo shop (professional piercer!) and occasionally I do magic for my customers. I seem to get a LOT of people coming for their birthday, so now I have something cool to add! I can also see a number of ways this could be adapted to suit a number of non-birthday situations by changing the cake to something else.. But just the same, Make A Wish rocks!!

Excellent effect, engaging presentation and a great idea to ring in some gaffed cards. This is a worker. Have it ready in your pocket and you are prepared to impress someone on their birthday AND leave them with a souvenir (plus your contact information if you do it right). You should have some experience with cards and audience management but apart from that it is not complicated. Thanks for sharing this. I will look into more of his material after seeing this.

Fab trick! This is the perfect little trick to keep in your pocket whenever you are doing card magic. The demonstration and explanation are both very clear - and I especially love the second half of the routine. This is definitely one that I will practise and perform. It's also a great way to give away a souvenir which can include your advertising details. Well worth it!

This is an amazing card trick that you can get for free. This is probably the best birthday card trick that I have found. If you are willing to wright on cards then you will be performing this for anyone who has a birthday. I can't wait to perform this and you should get this right now.

This looks like a wonderful walk around trick. Such a better way to make a birthday person feel special without embarrassing them with a song.

For what amounted to a free download, I have nothing bad to say about this effect. A few very simple sleights that most who have found this will likely already know. As far the the presentation, anytime you can make a personal connection to the audience, your performance becomes that much better. This effect can easily accomplish that, and the method is suitable for a number of different variations to add a personal touch.

I love the simplicity-versus-payoff of this trick. As a cruise director, I host a weekly celebration for all guests celebrating a birthday during their cruise and this is the perfect surprise and delight to give the event a more personal flair and to literally add a magical touch to an already special occasion.

Nice trick very easy to do with a little practice. It makes for an easy go to trick if your table hoping and come across someone who is celebrating a birthday. I will carry two sets of the trick invade there is a second person celebrating a birthday. That way it will be a different outcome in case someone is watching both performances.

I really like this trick it blew my mind and when I learned it I got better at magic by watching that. It showed me how to do a birthday trick. good a usable trick

This is a very interesting trick. I appreciate the magicians delivery when teaching all the intricacies of it. It does seem like a great way to create a lasting memory for someone who is having a birthday and also appreciates a magic routine at the moment. The techniques are simple but seems like they have a big punch. I was also paying attention to his pacing (when performing). Not too fast, nothing rushed but it didn’t seem to drag either.

Really liked the illusion of blownout candles as well as the thoughtfulness the effect represents. I don't see it as a pain lo prepare: spend an afternoon churning out set of ten, and I can easily acquire a red backer deck. A reputation maker.

I love this free download. the information and the tricks given free are much appreciated. I love the birthday card effect. I can use it along with my Anniversary Waltz effect, always having something ready for special occasions. This effect will blow people minds, as I performed it today after just getting it and went over to a friends house who is having a birhtday and did the effect for him. He was very surprised. This is something we all need! If you're a performing magician then a birthday trick that is self contained and ready to go at a moments notice is a must have thing. This is a very strong effect that will get amazing reactions and it's always ready to go. Packs small and plays big! It'll make your birthday audience member feel very special! I love it!

Wonderful routine, but I dont think I can pull it off. The moves are too advanced for me, like false cutting, holding a break or even tripple lift. I'm not that skilled. But it could be a surprising routine to a birthday person.

I didn't think I'd enjoy this, but I did. I now perform it with a different theme, but the same gimmicks and routine. Very clever thinking. Thank you for sharing.
