S.A.M.

Magicians and mentalists have long used the near-miss as a way of making mind-reading more believable. It may seem counterintuitive, but the tactic of being almost correct is employed by some of the best magicians and mentalists in our industry. But what would it look like for your audience to read your mind and get it almost correct? It would look like “SAM” by Christian Grace.
“SAM” is a spectator mind-reading effect that uses your phone for the prediction. The effect is simple: You quickly Google the word you’re thinking of, and place your phone face down as the prediction. Then, and only then, your participant attempts to read your mind to figure out the word. When they reveal the word that you were thinking of, they didn’t get it, but they got incredibly close. For example, they may say “Magazine” and you Googled “Newspaper”. This near miss makes the mind-reading feel incredibly real and sells the idea that they read your mind. The word that was Googled was never said out loud, making voice recognition seemingly impossible.
Because “SAM” leverages OpenAI’s technology, “SAM” is available in any language and is the perfect method for casual mind-reading.
You can even integrate “SAM” with other pieces of magic technology like “Inject” to let you use their phone for the prediction, “Glyphs” to make it into a physical prediction on real paper, “Hydra” to have the prediction on your social profiles, or even “Peeksmith” to know the near miss before turning your phone over.
“SAM” is the perfect EDC, since it uses a phone that you already carry with you. Add it to your phone and start performing instantly!
What you’ll get: Upon purchase, you’ll receive PDF instructions for the SAM app, as well as an activation code to download the app from the Apple App Store. Christian teaches three routines to get you started, but the possibilities with “SAM” are limitless!
The app is only available on IOS at this time.
Please note that “SAM” requires a free OpenAI account, as well as a credit (costing around $5) that is not included with purchase. You will need to provide a payment method for OpenAl to charge for the use of its API on a usage basis. This is not a subscription fee, and the API credit should last for tens of thousands of performances.

Justin asks: For the open Ai account cost $5.00 is that a one time cost or is it a subscription
- 1. Jim responds:One time, until you use up the $5. It should last for many hundreds of performances before you need to pay another $5.
- 2. Eliyahu responds:The $5 only lasts you a year. You won't run out, but the credits only last a year based on Open AI's policies. You will need to repurchase credits every year.
Enzo asks: I worked a little on the effect. But in Germany - it looks like there are a few biiiiig bugs to perform it solidly... Some of the "similar" words are miles, better moons away... Not practical for me at the moment... Or what can I do to get it work? (Of course ChatGPT, OpenAI - API-key, fast internet, calm surrounding (not to think of a party with more noise around ...))
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Please email us at Wizards@vanishingincmagic.com and we can look into this for you
Les asks: Internet connection required I assume...?
- 1. Mike responds:An OpenAI AI key is needed for surefire performances, as it covers the scenario of the spectator not saying a word we have in our list. So no, if the spectator says a word that's pre-paired. Yes, if the spectator names a word not on the list. In short, it's a confident yes that you need an internet connection.
- 2. Enzo responds:Also a question back - how could one find a google-search without internet connection???
Jeffrey S asks: I am assuming that one needs a good internet connection to perform this effect, correct?

Justin asks: When will this be available for Android users?

Jan Hendrik asks: Hi, can the trick be performed in other languages as well?
- 1. Harel responds:It says it works in any language
Frank asks: Can you please explain what else I need to make this work. Do I need to subscribe to ChatGPT?
- 1. Miguel responds:I have huge problems with chat GPT ., not good
