The Effects of Saturday

Justin Higham has been a respected figure in card magic for over three decades, known for his original sleight-of-hand techniques, deep theoretical insight, and contributions to the literature of advanced card work. We’re excited to offer limited supplies of some of his work.

The Effects of Saturday serves as a companion volume to Twelve Ways to Sunday. While Twelve Ways to Sunday focuses on thoughtful, sit-down magic performed at a relaxed pace, this collection turns its attention to shorter, more visual card effects suited for the informal, casual situations..

Included are stand-up poker deals inspired by Elmsley’s “Power Poker,” along with several Three-Card Monte routines designed for performance while standing, including Bobby Bernard’s “Follow the Queen.” Also featured are a range of miscellaneous effects, such as a striking visual card change and a triple Card to Pocket without any palming..

As a bonus, Justin has included an additional chapter of “Sunday Afternoon Routines”, none of which are included or appear in Twelve Ways to Sunday.
