Eugene Burger: From Beyond

I just recently bought this book because you know it is going to a classic of magic that you should have in your library because anything by Eugene Burger is always going to be good as Eugene is a master in the art of magic I'm not even half way through the book and I am totally hooked I love his work on the gypsy thread which he performs better than anyone else so do your self a favour and add to cart.

This is a wonderful book. There are some great routines in this book. I really enjoyed the video performances of Eugene performing the effects that accompany each routine.
The explanations are clear and have Eugenes full scripts. The book itself is well produced and the layout inside is lovely. There’s lots to love about this book. Highly recommended

This is a absolute treasure of a book. Once you read this it will change the way you think of magic forever. It will make you want more. So the final secrets will become your next prize to own. Absolute gem of a book. No library would be complete without a copy.

FANTASTIC READ! Nothing but gems from the master himself.

Many years ago I had the unique pleasure of attending a Eugene Burger lecture at a magic convention in Las Vegas. He was funny, charming and most importantly his lecture was filled with his experience, philosophy and wisdom on the performing of magic. I was already a admirer of his writings and already had a few of his books, though after the lecture, my admiration and respect intensified.

While I was perusing Vanish Inc's book offerings, I came across Eugene Burger: From Beyond. Naturally, my interest was peaked and as I read the description I was saddened to learn Eugene Burger had passed away some years ago, hence the title of this book. If you know anything about the Doctor Who series, the TARDIS is small on the outside (the size of a street telephone booth), but it's insanely huge on the inside. This book is just like a TARDIS. It's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. It contains 15 of Eugene's parlor, stage and spirit theater routines and you get a link to access audio and video material of many of his performances. I think this alone is worth the price of this book.

When I was a kid, one of the first tricks I bought was "Six-Card Repeat". Even as a beginner of magic, I was disappointed at the construction method and how the trick was done. When I got older, I realized how lame the trick actually was when performed. "Thirteen at Dinner" has a six-card repeat vibe, but in the hands of Eugene Burger I found his performance intriguing and I was pleasantly surprised at his unexpected and kicker ending.

This book not only contains Eugene's previously unpublished work, it also takes the reader through his scripting process for each piece. In the hands of a true Grand Master, the simplest of effects are transformed into engaging and magical works of art. If you don't have this book, I strongly urge you to purchase it before the only place you can find one is on the secondary market at an exorbitant price.

In my experience anything from Eugene Burger is worth having. Between his mini-lectures, scripting recommendations and well taught effects this is a great addition to any collection of his books. Having Eugene's multiple Gypsy Thread scripts all documented in one place along with the how's and why's of each are reason enough to pick this up.
