Some of Gary's handlings do require some sleight of hand - he is very fond of palming cards, for instance - but equally, there are other ideas which are basically self-working! So there's something for everyone here.

The vast majority of the 40 effects included here are with cards, but within that Gary has provided a huge variety of plot and magic that always has a big surprise finish. Some of the effects will go straight into your working repertoire because they are just too good to miss!

It seems a lot of Americans don't know who he is but Gary Jones is the man. I first caught wind of Gary through a book he did with Chris Congreave and subsequent books and lectures where Gary was credited for all kinds of practical effects and forces. Once I found out that he published a few books and had live lectures on other sites I started grabbing everything of his I could. Dude is super practical without dumbing things down. He doesn't drag out effects. They are quick and easy but pack a punch. A lot of effects in this book will require basic card magician stuff a deck of cards and blank facers. There is nothing flashy in Gary's work. Rather, the book is full of well thought out plots, reimagining of classics and a masterclass on how to breathe new life into effects you have been performing for years. Also, all the effects have been tested in real life settings. Gary isn't theorizing about magic, the man is out there performing to people all the time. He knows what works and what doesn't. Sure not every trick in the book is going to be up your alley but there is a lot to take away and learn from. Highlights for me are: B'waver, Mystery Card 2.0 and pocket to pocket. There is also a card to balloon with some good insights on subtleties Gary uses.
