Customer reviews for Max Malini: King of Magicians, Magician of Kings (2nd Edition)
I am more of a magic history nut than a trick guy, so was more interested in learning more about the man himself than his tricks. But when i got to the trick section, which starts on chapter 9, page 105, i decided to see what it was like anyway and am so glad i did.
Besides some neat tricks and techniques, several of which i've bookmarked, in discussing the tricks, author Steve Cohen also dispenses even MORE golden nuggets of info about Malini, the royalty etc he performed for, other magicians he hob nobbed with, and other interesting facts.
I have admired Steve Cohen since first learning of him via a feature that was done on him on the CBS Sunday morning program back around 2007 or 8 i believe. His writting in this book is soooooo wonderful! And squash publishing's work on the printing and binding is superb as well. Add to that the care and attention to detail and customer service of the sellers, Vanishing inc, and you have a total home run. I truly can not say enough good about this book and transaction. I am over the top ecstatic!??
So far, what strikes me the most, is how Malini was able to "sell" the simplest of tricks by sheer force of his personality. Regardless of his methods, you have to give the man props for "chutzpah!"
Highly recommended. Buy a copy now, while it's still available!
