Mind Mapping in Magic

Mind Mapping in Magic is your interactive guide to sparking creativity and developing routines that are uniquely you.
Despite being one of the busiest magicians in America—including more than 1,000 performances at New York City’s premiere magic show Speakeasy Magic and appearances at prestigious venues like the magic castle and the Chicago magic lounge —Rachel Wax walked into The Session 2025 as a relative unknown among UK and European magicians. Yet she left as a unanimous crowd favorite that attendees are still raving about to this day.
Rachel blew everyone away with her sharp wit, clever premises, and entertaining performances. And the craziest part? She largely performed tricks that would be considered “classics”. While some magicians obsess over developing new methods or fooling their peers, Rachel’s success stems from her ability to craft engaging, unique plots that make every routine feel fresh and exciting.
Let me put it this way for you: she had an entire room of magicians laughing and hollering at what could technically be considered a “Professor’s Nightmare” routine. However, there were no ropes involved, nor any mysterious “professors” that just couldn’t understand why the lengths of said ropes kept changing.
This 36-page softback interactive workbook walks you through the art of mind mapping and how it can be used to generate and organize your magic ideas in a visual way. Layer by layer, Rachel shows you how to hone in on your performing persona and craft a repertoire filled with killer magic only you can pull off. To ensure you fully understand each concept, each section contains specific examples from Rachel’s career.
While the booklet is designed to be written in, we know that some of you like to keep your magic texts pristine. Which is why anyone who purchases the physical version will also receive the ebook completely free.
As a special bonus, you’ll also receive a download of The Rachel Wax Experience from The Session. This approximately 45-mind video contains both her show and the mind mapping lecture that followed it. As an added bonus, you also get to see Andi Gladwin dressed like a bride.
Mind Mapping in Magic by Rachel Wax is available exclusively at Vanishing Inc. in limited quantities. Get your copy today!
NOTE: Both the performance and lecture contain adult themes and language. Viewer discretion is advised.
Customer reviews for Mind Mapping in Magic
1) find or hone your unique performing persona
2) take the magic tricks and techniques that you already have and create original presentations to fit that persona
3) or starting with your persona, brainstorm tricks that would fit it, along with recommended resources.
I’ve been a fan of Rachel’s ever since her Fool Us appearance, so was sorry to have missed her at The Session here in the UK, but delighted to be able to get the ebook and the video download of her performance and lecture.
If you’re just on the look out for new tricks, look elsewhere, but serious magicians, both professional and hobbyists, will always recognise the value of these kind of work.
Once again Rachel wins the bigger game.
If you're looking to expand your understanding of your own persona and how you can really let who you are as a performer shine through, you'll want to get this.
If you're looking to create routines that are more specific to you and perhaps come up with your own, you'll want to get this.
Mind Mapping in Magic is a great introduction to the creative process that should be highlighted more.
So, I’d say it’s a really brilliant mini-lecture accompanied by a booklet that will inspire you to rethink how you present yourself, to personalise your magic, select the right tricks and make deliberate presentation choices and then guide you on how.
If you even just approach your performance character in this way, you’ll be better off for it.
Cheers…. Ted

Deryck asks: Can the Ebook be printed off? And is it enough on its own, or do you really need the physical paperback (which is now out of stock) too?
- 1. Cayce responds:You can print it. I am a hard copy person but, in this instance, I think the ebook has the benefit because you can print the worksheets if you want to use them versus writing in the book.
Gabriel asks: Any estimate of when the physical book will be available again?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Sadly it is sold out at this time. We do not have an ETA for a reprint.
Christopher asks: So no actual tricks?
- 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds:Correct.
