Just buy this book! If you're a mentalist you should already have this on your shelf. This is one of the "bibles" in the mentalism world. It's essential reading. There is material from all the leading mentalists of the era. Dunninger, Al Baker, Dr. Jaks... etc. It's all here Q&A, billets, book tests, blindfolds, mentalism using cards, predictions, mind reading, slate routines-the works. Perhaps one of the most valuable pieces of information is the blueprint for his signature pocket index which can be made at home(magic is all about arts and crafts). This is material every mentalist on the planet needs to be familiar with.

Practical Mental Magic is literally one of the best mentalism books in the world. It includes so many good effects and subtleties that are step by step and easy to understand. If you don't have this, you should buy it for sure. Thanks Vanishing Inc. for another awesome mentalism book!

This book is a classic that has stood the test of time for a reason. While some suggestions and routines may be dated and use props that are no longer commonplace, they are easily adapted and the principles easily transferred, meaning that you can really use 99% of what’s in the book, even today. I have years performing professionally as a mentalist, and a lot of modern mentalism has evolved this from this book and Corinda. Maybe you can jump straight to the Peter Turner and Luke Jermay tricks, but I’m sure they’d tell you to read this book as well because it really does give you a basis for the things they are developing even still.
