However...
I have used this for the last few months for every parlor show I have done and it has never missed. The method is super straightforward, and the method used does make things feel a bit more fair than "fish"y. Again, I have never really used a book test, but this one was easy to use right from the get go and there is essentially no memorization required to do this. It is a great book test for beginners. I say this as I have no other book test experience.
They have a "gimmick" crib that is fantastic. I have handed the gimmick out and my wife had no clue it was even there.
The book looks like a paperback novel you might buy from Dollar General, or the dollar store. It looks good. There is a "story" in the book, but it is not that interesting, but I recommend reading a portion of it, as it will give you an idea of the method and help with any memory work you want or need.

- 1. Ken responds:There is no phishing in terms of for example, going through an anagram or list of letters. the method of getting the needed last letter of the word is brilliant and seamless. I have done this for both magicians and lay people, and fooled everyone with it.
