After seeing the champagne act many years ago and learning his wild card routines I always loved the elegance of his handling of cards…. It’s like poetry and this book is simply beautiful, the pages stay open easily and it’s nice easy to read print and captures his magic beautifully….. highly recommended and the videos alone are fantastic he’s getter older but he still has a beautiful elegance to his card handling …… so far it’s book of the year!

Although there are only a few coin routines they are incredibly strong and visually impressive! Jean Vallarino is truly amazing. I remember when I saw him for the first time doing his Fism Act and my response was this is so elegant. He performs the moves so fast with such grace you just stop trying to figure it out and enjoy the masterpiece. I am proud that he released a 300 plus page book reveling his best work so that magicians can learn and perform there versions to the amazing slights. The book is truly marvelous and you will not be disappointed.

If you are a cardician this is a must buy. Superb and large selection of effects. Just look at the table of contents! The sleights section introduced me to a few new methods that I am going to incorporate.
The book is also beautiful! and looks great on my working table! The photos detailing the choreography are excellent and augment the text descriptions to help you quickly learn the mechanics (followed by practice of course!) ( I did note one missing photo but it really wasn't essential).

A gorgeous legacy piece for one of our most under-appreciated living sleight of hand artists and creators. The style of Vallarino’s card magic won’t be for everyone: it’s a little on the flashier, flourish-y side (though, often, surprisingly easy to accomplish for those of intermediate skill). That said, it’s worthy of study even for card magicians who tend to avoid this more showy sort of magic. Vallarino’s thinking is refreshingly out of the box and a joy to work through with cards in hand; a task made very simple to thanks to Lovick’s clear, economical writing style.

This is most probably my favourite magic book in a very long time. The number of photos are just mind boggling. The explanations are clear and the effects just incredible. The performance videos are a great augmentation of the book and really helpful to see some of the sleights performed. Some of my favourite ace assembly routines ever in this book. What to say? It's Vallarino! His artistry is amazingly portrayed in this book (No, it's a tome). The instructions are the clearest I have seen seen, the colored photos the sharpest and the effects chosen are extremely practical.

This book has a delux quality to it, that matches the magic inside. It is densely packed with Vallarino's work, mostly cards and a few coins, including his FISM act. Between the text, many photographs, and even videos (from Vanishing Inc), everything is clearly explained. One thing of note, most of the tricks require the use of a table.

Watched the video of this routine before my book arrived. This was the first routine I wanted to learn from the book, though I discovered the description in the book is different. I like the idea of having an accompanying video to go with the effects to watch how the master really performs it. Great visual magic and unique matrix effect

I am just starting my dive into this book. It is well written with so many clear pictures to guide you along. If you have seen Vallarino's work then you know you are in for some beautiful magic. The book itself is extremely well made, more so than any other book in my collection. It is a fantastic looking book as well. The many short video clips of Vallarino performing the tricks and sleights are a great asset to the learning process and the beautiful way he handles cards is a joy to watch. The guys at Vanishing Inc knocked this one out of the park.

This is a collector's piece. In a few years it will be worth gold. All the magic of Jean Pierre Vallarino between the hard covers of a book that is almost the bible of card magic. An edition produced with great care and attention, with multiple examples and new routines, useful information and techniques and also accompanied by a series of videos made by Vallarino himself in which he reproduces the original performance of each trick. I find the explanations are excellent with great use of photography and it provides good reinforcement for a lot of card techniques I am learning elsewhere. However, I find a lot of the routines have excess movement that is not justified and some of the techniques are very discrepant in ways that I think call attention to the eye that something happened. The spectator might not know what happened, but it will feel like there was a move. I still have to go through more of the book, but at this point, this book is great for getting a broader perspective, but other than the Rhumba count, I doubt that I will use any of these routines as he has them.

This book is beautifully put together, and the inclusion of all of the performance videos help in selecting what of the wide range of material included you want to work with first, as well as helping to get a clearer sense of the rhythm and gesture that helps to make these convincing. The written descriptions and photography are very clear and detailed, helping to make these moves attainable and clear. Some of the moves and routines involve discrepancies or movements that feel excessive or somewhat unnatural, and so I will be picking and choosing which elements fit my style best, as well as reworking some of these to suit my own style. There is an elegance that is clearly evident in Vallarino's own approach that is a bit different from my own approach, but many of these pieces are a great way to add more elegance and flourish without feeling like you are randomly doing cardistry all of a sudden. The chapters that are focused on a particular type of routine are a great feature, because they provide a wide range of different moves and options, and while the different routines in the sandwich section, for example, all work as distinct options, many elements can be combined or borrowed to help explore the plot in a thorough way.

Everything is here, sharp photos, succinct explanations, and material that stands a head above typical close up card magic. Vallarino is a master, and this book is definitely a treasure.

The Iris ace production is one of my favorite ace productions I have seen in Vallarino and it is explained in great detail too. It was a pleasure to learn this in Vallarino along with many other slights and tricks. Vanishing Inc has put so much effort in to this it has so many detailed pictures and everything is described in great detail. I was very satisfied with this product and very excited to see Vanishing Inc release their next big book!

Vallarino has a flashy, poetic style, and while some of his sleights are too flashy for many, this book has plenty of amazing routines in it. My highlights were Vallarino's rendition of Wild Card, Sandwich Retention, Flying Sandwich, Triple travel, and of course the Rumba count sleight. Only minor issues are that while the book has a record number of photos, it's still often difficult to follow some of the longer routines. More 'situation checks' could help. If you choose to buy this, I recommend buying it from this site because the additional videos really help understand how his poetic style is supposed to look like.

In that case I would have had to pay in GBP (thus adding to the price the bank charge to convert from euros to GBP) plus have to pay for the delivery from UK to France (not a small amount). In any case it would have substantially added to the book price. I thus feel that restricting videos access to your Vanishing customers is disrespectful to the others customers that have to pay extra fees for no specific service.
